New Owner... just checking things out here.

Hello all!

Yesterday I picked up my new (to me) 2003 TL Type S. Man, what a blast to drive so far. My first experience outside of Ford/Dodge and let me tell ya, I prolly won't go back!

Black on Black with 20k miles.... No nav, but I just picked up my Tom Tom GPS and I'm ready to roll!

I just wanted to say a quick "Hi"!

I was actually looking for an 04, but I found this Type S with only 21,000 miles on it. I think I did OK price wise - other cars from dealers were in the 18k-22k range, but most had mileage over 35-40k.

The Acura warranty on this one is still in effect for another year, so I got a free 1 year warranty with it as well.

I ended up paying 21k after tax (5%), title, registration and fees.

Does anyone have any info on how Acura's extended warranty works? I was told by the dealer that I could get a warranty from them as long as I notify them within 90 days of expiration.

Anyone know how much they run?

Thanks!

...

I felt the EXACT same thing you did...
However...I've extend that criteria to only buying cars where the FINAL ASSEMBLY is in Japan/Germany.

Ours, although good...was still built in Ohio. You'll notice the difference in years of ownership.

Bias, pure and simple. There is absolutely no data to back that up whatsoever.

Check your window sticker. You'll see that the final assembly is in Ohio. There's nothing biased or BS about it.

As for noticing a difference...like I said...this was "MY" criteria.

Oh yeah I know the TL is built in Ohio, but that doesn't mean it is inferior.

The TL wasn't available in 6spd form until 2004.
