New Member to Acura Family!
Hey everyone!
I just purchased a 2000 Acura TL Silver/Black combo with 130k miles for 6k. I love the way it drives and it's just damn comfy. Tranni and mechanic checked out and body has a couple of scratches here and there but I'm ready to treat it with some love and pamper it. This is gonna be my new college ride that replaces my 1992 Audi 100s. So, just wanted to say hi and ask if anyone had any suggestions for care or if I should do anything in particular, I would be much appreciative.

Welcome!
I bought a 99 TL a few weeks ago and I love the car.
I've quickly found that this is the place to learn all about TLs. There are lots of helpful people here with tons of experience.
Is your TL still running the original transmission? Do you know when the transmission fluid was last replaced? My long-time mechanic thinks that it's very important to replace the transmission fluid regularly in the TLs.
You might also check if the timing belt has been replaced yet.
Did you get any service records from the previous owner?

Well it last had the timing belt, water pump and tuneup at 90k. But as far as I can tell he has no record of that so for my own sanity, I was going to do all of it. What do you think?

Can the previous owner tell you where the car was serviced at 90K miles? If so, perhaps you could call to check on what was done.
The previous owner of my TL always took his car to the same Acura dealership and he was able to get me a detailed printout of every service.
Also, if you have a CarFax report for your TL, it will sometimes indicate when services were done. That won't tell you exactly what was done but you might get some peace of mind if there was a service recorded at 90K.
If you don't have a CarFax report yet you might be able to get a free one via this thread in the Car Talk Forum:

This is what I've ordered so far
OEM Cabin Filters
OEM Fuel Filter
5 Quarts Honda ATF Transmission Fluid
K&N Air Filter
OEM Timing Belt Kit
And I think I'm going to go with this set of OEM Spark Plugs...
OEM NGK Spark Plugs
Anyone know if you can add fog lights to the 99-01 models?
And any recommendations for motor oil?

Mobil 1 synthetic oil. Foglights can be added, but it might take work to make it look good. Search for the threads on them, don't know where they are. If you want, you can get some 03 taillights to get rid of the yellow turn signals. Clear looks cleaner, but its just looks, so it is your decision. Welcome to the forum as well!

Can I still change to synthetic oil at my mileage of 130k? Do i have to get OEM 03 tailights or can I get the 'euro' style as well? I mean I'm not opposed to getting OEM but I'm having a hard time finding them.

I suggest you get the OEM TAIL LIGHTS, 02-03 model with the clear and read which i assume you know what im talking about. Your not really gona be able to find any aftermarket Tail Lights for the TL. There really arent any made and if there are some that are aftermarket, I'm sure they look fucked riced out to SHIT! Don't ever put anything that is rice on your TL unless you enjoy getting flamed.
And can you point me in the direction to OEM 03-04 tailights?

And I'd be really interested in contacting. So if someone could please give me that info, that'd be great, yeah. :-) And from what I understand the person who owned the car before has been using regular oil.

The TL won't be harmed with regular dino oil. Don't let any of the kids on this site insist the TL has to have synthetic - it will be just fine if you run dino. My car says 5w-20 oil should be used but 5w-30 is fine, too (actually that might be the requirement).
