allright, got it done this morning. it sounds 350% better. cost me $100 with my tire rotation. i highly recommend it! i can still hear it, but it's so muted it actually sounds cool, as it was meant to sound. no more rattlesnakes under the hood.
PenguinQX - i would say yes, but as with any weld on any header or piece of metal, alot of it depends on the ability of the welder. and the way i see it, even if i have it rewelded twice, then the headers still only cost me $450, about 1/3 the price of comptechs. if it happens a third time i'll chuck em.
i'll post some photos this week. i haven't had a chance to get under the car yet.

i should of thought of that a while ago...next time im back home im gonna have my muffler shop do that, the bottom of my flex pipe is already torn pretty bad from speed bumps an shiet.

Dropped my car off for oil change+new brake pads... The shop doesn't do exhaust work though, so I'm going to have to wait to get this done... This might have to wait though, I need to get these new springs+shocks on, they're taking up too much space in my dorm room and if I don't get them on before school ends, I'll have to store them over the summer!!

i guess i'll put it this way. it cost me $100 with my tire rotation and i had to wait 3 hours at the shop, but it was worth it. although i did have an annoyingly loud exhaust leak from the flex anyway when i brought it in, so it would have been worth it to fix it anyway.

Header wrap wont stop a leak. Have a shop remove the front flex and leak

So if I get Megans and replace this: http://img127.imageshack.us/img127/7...raid0vx0ik.jpg with a straight peice of piping, there will be no resonance issues?

i will say though that it's been 5 days since i had my flex re-welded, and i feel like the car drives better now. throttle response seems better, acceleration is stronger and it sounds sooo much better also. i wasn't expecting any of those improvements, except for the hissing going away.
my icebox just came last night also, so i plan on putting that in today and getting a dyno soon.

THIS WORKS!!!!! HOLY FUCKING SHIT THE RESONANCE IS GONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
it only costed me 50 bucks at golden auto in san francisco. i got back in my car not knowing what to expect. after a slow rev the resonance is completely and totally gone. on top of it, this weird grinding noise i thought was caused by my failing engine mounts was also eliminated
I HIGHLY RECOMEND THIS TO ANYONE WITH MEGAN HEADERS

just got this done today at Golden Auto and man is it great 20 minutes and $50 dollars later resonance is gone, they did a nice job getting rid of that troublesome second flex pipe and replacing it with a straight pipe.Wish now I only did this sooner.........if you have megans go do this now.
