Post New Jaguar Type 'X'...

Read about this in my AMI Auto Weekley. 32K to start, good performance. What would you guys think about that car (as it compares to the TL)?

I like that fact that it is all-wheel drive. I don't like the Juguar reputation for problems and Ford's isn't much better.

5 speed!!!!

Since Ford has taken over, Jaguars reliability has improved a TON. Jags where more of a tinkerers car, which is why they got a bad rep. Someone who likes to screw around with their cars 24/7 like me would love one. I don't know why people give Ford such a bad name, our family has owned 13 of them with no problems beside the usual wear and tear. GM...now that's another story.

AWD, 2.5L w/ 190? HP, 3.0 w/ 230? HP. HP #s are just an estimate. 5 speed with either engine or 5 speed auto. Trunk space is bigger. Size should be a tad bit bigger than the TL. It's based on the new Mondeo platform which is similar in size to the Taurus. The price range is a guestimate. But should be around that. You are going to pay more because of the name, but for 32k it's got a lot more style than a TL.

Liked the looks, disliked the weak engine options. Its a FORD, what can I say. Built on Ford's european platform with US engine. Again, loading options to same level as TL is going to push price above 40k. I'll pass. Too bad the new TL didn't go for a more radical makeover.
