New idea of a mod in the interior.
I had this idea eversince three years ago... but never tried it...
I was wondering if anyone is willing to try it out...
In my opinion, our map lights and door lights are not as bright as they could have been and with a little modification, it COULD be much brighter...
BY painting the interior of the light cavity to chrome or silver so that the light can reflect and project a brighter output. Or, perhaps by adding some type of reflective piece into the cavity of the light to establish the same effect.
Any comments or thoughts?

I have hyperwhite bulbs in the dome and door lights + hyper white footwell lighting that is hooked up with the dome (goes on when doors unlock/open/fade out, etc) and I find it more than adequate! Are you hoping to sunbathe in there or something??
Btw, switching the stock bulbs to hyperwhite will make a huge difference in terms of brightness. Have you tried that?

great idea.. how about tin foil?? its a household product that anyone has.. and you can form/shape it in any way possible to fit into the cavity.. i guess i could also give it a try. it should reflect the light right?
instead of going through all the trouble trying to paint the inside of that piece

I lined mine with tin foil, and it works fine. You just gotta make sure to avoid all the contacts lest you wanna burn a fuse (like I did a few times). If you really want them brighter, you could swap the socket for different bulb size. Also, the sockets we have now can fit 906/912 bulbs, but I'm not sure of the clearance for the length of the bulbs since I'm running white LED 906/912 bulbs which are shorter.

ahh, they now sell LEDs for that use, bright as hell, so bright, that you cant even look at them straight when they are lit. No mods necessary.
