New Door Sills

I was wondering how I can get some nice door sills. Something to the chrome effect. The factory sills are too boring.

I bought the Evolution's Brush Aluminum sills, plan to use 3M adhesive instead of double sided tapes to stick them on. I will also try to put on 3M clear bra to prevent scratching.

Word of advice, dont use the 3M tape. I thought it was their tape taht they sent was shitty so I bought some more and it is still shittt. Do urself a favor and get some clear silicone. It'll work a lot better and more flush inside of that little gap. Your pants sometimes can get caught and it will bend.

You'll see how the "Type" goes over the red "S", just being picky thats all. I expected it to be a little better.

I meant to use 3M clear bra to protect the brushed surface, on the back side I will use a sharp knife to pry off the two sided tapes and use 3M ahesive to glue to stock plastic sills.

I would rather get the illuminated door sills over the chrome ones. But make sure you stick it on right or else their going to fall off like mine did

Heres a picture of how it used to look like on my car

When I got those sills, the 3M tape didn't run down the length of the sills. I ended up slowly peeling off the tape that came with the sills and went out and got 2 rolls of the 3M Exterior Mounting Tape. It's basically the same stuff, but I was able to put the tape on down the whole length of the sill. Made it stick a lot better and the ends were on tighter. Just make sure to thoroughly clean the plastic sill with alcohol before you put the sills on.

I got those sills too and I didn't have any problems with them sticking. I just used the tape that they came with and it worked fine. I've had them on for about 1 1/2 yrs. now.

the chrome sills are nice ( i used to have them), but i think its definately worth paying the extra $$ for the lit door sills from the group buy going on. those looks sooo awsome. reminds me of my pops' mercedes.
