Exclamation New Coilovers

I just found out about these, maybe you all have known for a while, but OBX has coilovers made for the 98-01 Accord V6, that will obviously fit our TL's.

And while I'm at it I may just shamelessly plug these side mirrors I've really got my eye on. I'm asking them right now if they're powered or not. If they are powered, there's no question. These mirrors are badass. (in the Accord 4dr application of course)

Notice the side blinker like Benz S-Classes, and new E's and CLK's.

Full Sleeved coilovers? That's a new one, rice. Real coilovers, For your information come with a spring, helper spring, shock/damper, seat, and upper mount. Looks to me like that coilover up top has all of those. We like to call that fully threaded. Now coilovers like WeaponR, and Ground Control, are only sleeves, as in the stock shock fits in the middle of them. Hence the name sleeve, as your arm fits in the middle of a sleeve. Are you following this Rice? I know its tough, but bear with me.

Now here's the kicker, Here are OBX's sleeved coilovers:

Notice how they only have springs and seats. No shock, no upper mount, no helper springs.

And once again, here are OBX's FULLY F*CKING THREADED coilovers:

Any questions Rice?

F=ma, why are fully threaded better than sleeves. I have been curious about this for awhile, and I heard that fully threaded have better quality and last longer that sleeves. Can you shed some light on this for me.

Soundspeed, when you think about it, spring manufacturer's have to build springs that will go with either stock shocks and not blow them or be rugged enough for performance shocks, to fully utilize its potential. When you want a vast compatibility, you give up specialized performance. Same goes with a shock manufacturer, they have to build shocks with the mindset that some lame-head would put them on a car with stock springs, or someone could put them on a car with springs that lower the car 3". Two VERY different scenarios, and hard to make a good shock for both that do both well. So as you can imagine, manufacturers sacrifice some hardcore-ness for crowd pleasing-ness.

Coilovers are built as a single unit, those specific springs to work with those shocks, they both know their limitations and performance capabilities. In essence its like trying to row a canoe with a random joe and trying to row it with your identical twin.

Sorry I forgot the name but your pictures do not even show up. I'm still sure ground controls and skunk II are better than OBX.

Those side mirrors, does mirror defrog function still works on them? Sometime when I park my car outside of the garage, the mirrors fogged up quickly. But thanks for the defrog function.

Thanks F=ma, appreciate the knowledge. I always wanted to get that cleared up.
