Need to vent...

I wasn't a fan of NJ before but now I really HATE it (not it's residents just it's highways)!!! Last night I was going home after work on the turnpike, I was in the middle lane behind a car and decided to change lanes to the right lane...as I begin to make the switch WHAP...I hit a large orange consruction cone just sitting in the middle of the turnpike btw the lanes. :smackhead Mind you this was not a construction zone. Worst of all I couldn't have even attempted to swerve it b/c I never saw it until it was right in front of me. :banghead: Needless to say it shattered my passenger fog light (fog light bulb and strobe light too).

well the way I see it, the fog lights are bound to crack anyways. Whether you do city or highway driving, these fog light lenses are easily crackable. But I do see why you would be pissed off. I too would be pissed. Hopefully the cone didn't do any body damage around the frame of the fog light lense.

I live in Chicago and both of my fog lenses are cracked! Here in Illinois its NOT illegal for stone trucks to drive with a cover on. There's so many rocks that fall on the highway and nail your car!

Both my lenses are gone but the lights still work. Acura quoted me 400/piece for the lenses. Thanks but I'll pass on that one..!! Sucks but what are you going to do?

like i said...unfortunately with the TL if you drive it, it is nearly guaranteed to crack.

driving the TL 1200 miles a month or more = probable cracked fog lenses.

i replaced two already ....i wish they only sold the glass...next time im gonna try the plexi glass mod that i read about on here..... but it would be great if someone made a plexi or plastic cap that fit over and snapped in place right over the stock lens. Sly's in for a new fog light and another 30 for a strobe lamp .... so your looking at about 120 bucks in parts. Last time i bought a fog it cost me in the ball part of 90 bucks i remember. That 400 quote must be for parts n labor and the special dealer service fee.

Bro where'd you get your fog light from? I've replaced this one once already and it cost me $150 for the housing...if this one costs me the same we're talking $150 for the housing, $30 for the strobe light, $90 for PIAA bulbs (since they don't sell singles), so that's $270...not to mention the time to cut the fog light to fit the strobe. Or I can reuse the old one which just has a crack in the lens.
