NEED HELP ASAP: Coolant question?
I am planning to change the coolant in my TL soon but I was looking at the manual and I need help. I found the drain plug to let the coolant out but it says to loosen the drain bolt at the rear of the engine cylinder block. Problem is where the hell is the drain bolt? I am not familiar with engine components so can someone please take a pic of the drain bolt for me and post it up so I can see where it is asap.
Thanks!
Thanks!
Thanks kman!
I know there are a few bolts back there. I loosen one (which I thought was the right one) but it looked like it was oil and not coolant. So that's why I need to know where the EXACT bolt is.
Can somebody with a digicam take a clear picture of the drain bolt I need to loosen and post it for me please????

id crawl under and look for ya but my car is getting repaired. i have never heard of a plug on the block though for coolant other than freeze plugs, which you dont just simplu take out
I actually found mine, there is a diagram in the manual. It took me like 15 min. to find it though, and when I did, I was to scared to take a bolt out of the actual engine block so I didnt even take it out. You really dont have too.
Just drain all you can out of the radiator, then to drain the engine itself, leave your radiator plug off, turn on the engine, (be sure to watch the temp!!!!) once the engine gets at normal opp. temp., it will push out the hot coolent into the radiator. After it quits draining out of the radiator, turn off the motor, and fill like normal.
The only problem with this is, if you dont pay attention you could overheat your engine, but its real obvious if you watch your guage. Mine never got much hotter than normal when I did it.

If you cant find it, and you still want to drain more than just whats in your radiator, then do what I said, this will flush the rest from your engine.
The bolt, is on the very back center of your block. It is a real pain to get too cause of the exhaust....I wouldnt worry about it!

Good luck
This is funny stuff!
Don`t unscrew completly, there is a keeper on it.
What ever you do, Don`t unscrew the freeze plugs!
Do invest a little money and change out your cap!
GOOD LUCK, you`ll need it!
You could take it to the dealer, and for 20.$ they`ll do it!
