Need Header/CAI Advice 03TL S

I have read most of the posts I could find on headers. I like my car but not enough to do the Comptech thing to it. Most of the good feedback seems to point to Megan Racing. I've visited their web site and they only list 99-02 TL's. Is it safe to assume that the 03 is included here. Thanks for any wisdom

^^ yes, you can use them for your car as well. Try looking for used comptechs, a good deal comes around ones a while in the black market section. Believe me they are well worth the money spent. As far as the CAI well if you want the performance and not the sound then go with Comptech Icebox, its a gain of 14 hp, where as if you go with the AEM CAI then you will get the sound ( which is addicting) but will gain 13 hp compared to the comptechs 14, looks wise the comptech looks stock and the AEM dont.

btw welcome to the board, i see its ur first post ever.

Cleanster, welcome to the board also. It's nice to see someone else kinda around my age. Let me know what you do about headers. I'm thinking about it too. Comptech is the best, but they are $$$.

AEM CAI + OBX SS = .7 off the 1/4-mile ET.

Some people have had problems with OBX, but mine are fine. Just the luck of the draw, I suppose.

Welcome to the board.

yes... after a week of vibrating the hearders "snug" together and they need to be retightened.. it might be partially the gaskets compressing aswell.

Been looking around, found Stone ceramics on line for 380.00 same for stainless. Stones on ebay for 250. Megan wants 350.00 or so. No hurry ... dusted some little acura yesterday, he had it coming. It's good to be King

All of the CAI's yield about the same gains, though the Comptech is a bit more quiet than AEM or Injen.

One more thing with Comptech--you won't have any problems...

I was asking about what problems with regards to CAIs other that comptech... if you're getting discoulouration on your CAI you've got alot more to worry about.. obviously you didn't get my question, I meant the Intakes.

I would put an AEM CAI up against a comptech Icebox anyday of the week with regards to reliability, performance, sound and espically looks.

yeah the comptech Ice box is designed to look like a stock air box, for what purpose I'm not really sure, some say it doesn't void acura's warranty if you use comptech parts, that wouldn't be a reason to make it look like stock IMO, but everybody that has one seems to like them..

If you're looking to get a serious roar out of your intake without spending ANY money... research removing your intake resinator, it is a 45min job and it will allow your car to breath much easier. Punch the gas and you'll be turning heads, the car roars without the resinator.. probably not much of a HP gain, but there usually isn't much of one when dealing with the intake (or exhaust for that matter)

Nope, I didn't because I meant headers. Conversely, my Injen is a perfectly fine CAI and is much purrrtier than your silly AEM!

I like my Injen better then my old AEM. Looks better sounds better and in my opinion is higher quality (better welds).

Thanks,

Joe
