Exclamation Need an engine...

Anyone know of any places in So Cal that sell used J32A2 engines?

I let mine overheat by accident when my radiator blew last month and now it runs like sh*t.

Also, does anyone have any suggestions on doing a rebuild?

Would be cheaper to get a new engine than changing the head gasket.

you can check Craigslist adds for engines Only go to JDM engine suppliers its your best bet tl motors car range from 650+ from these kind of folks http://www.jdmenginescorp.com/engines/acura/ if you cant find a jdm warehouse you got to find ship it or salvage or etc

They are right it is cheaper to get a new engine but its all what you want if you want to have to pull the motor or save the engine you got and see where its going to take you. In the name of the acura game if you break it you replace it with factory spec parts or better.

a sever overheat does more than blow a head gasket
things like piston rings and bearings get too hot... and a few months later...

ck local auto dismantling and recycling (formerly junkyards)
they have a hotline system to other places- can find out who has what you need and get it sent to them or your door

the internet is the place to start. ebay has a biz with our tbelt kit with everything, for 200-250$ made by asaia? asahi? something like that--same name is on the stock part

do replace water pump -timing belt- all tensioners and belts, so you have it fresh and ready to go
Smart money would adjust the valves and clean egr system inside intake manifold before doing the install,,,while its all in easy reach

Thanks for the all the input guys. I haven't found a replacement engine yet as they all have tons of miles on them. I was recommended by a mechanic that has apparently done swaps in the 2nd gen TL to do the J35A8 from the RL/07-08 TL-S.

What's your guys' input on this?

Won't work with our trans/ecu.

Search outside of your area. Many places ship and its not that expensive.

There are plenty of engines with low miles you just have to expand your search
