Congratulations & welcome to the board!
As for intakes, a AEM or Injen CAI will give you a small bump in hp. Use the search function on CAI or cold air intake and you should get a lot of info & opinions. Also look in the FAQ's to learn more about your car.

get the OBX headers with that cai and youll be somewhat hanging with a tl-s. Stock tl 225hp + headers (20hp) + CAI (5hp) + Pulleys (10hp) =~260hp

With all the money you gonna spend on these mods, you might as well get a TypeS. As for the bodykit, the best place is on this site. Just click on the button on the top for Aero Parts.

I concure ..... also some dealers frown upon modifications to the car and will deny coverage under warranty if they belive it was a contributing factor in what went wrong

With the difference in price between non S and S is pretty much the bang for the buck. All the money you spend on exhaust, CAI, headers will exceed the money you will spend getting the Type-S, not to mention that TSC is not as good as VSC. I have the non S and I like it the way it is cause I'm not into fixing it up; besides, 90% of the time I use my car is for work, so there's no reason for me to get a Type S.

gdatw019 - You need to really ask yourself what you want. (Sorry...but your statement makes no sense)

For the price of the CAI, Headers and Pulleys, you will get 260 HP...like the TL-S but you WILL NOT get the:

Suspension
Wheels
VSA
Gauges
Perforated leather

You will get a 260 HP car that will not be able to handle the HP.

Basic question to you is:

Are you looking for a 260 or 300 HP TL ??

You guys aren't listening, he allready has the TL-P. Lets not keep rubbing it in. Just one piece of advise for gdatw019, don't put a Type S badge on your car

Not too sure what the "P" is, but I had a 3.0 CL Premium , so maybee it stands for premium???

Anyway, headers are big, you would notice the difference. However the CAI is cheap and souns hot. Just got mine last month. Pics

The first mod I did was the Injen CAI which cost me $210... I can feel the difference...

The second thing I got was a Neuspeed Strut Bar... only cost me $110, but I can feel the difference in handling.

gdatw019... OBX Headers will cost you around $300-$400, but it has mixed reviews. I would say go for the Comptech Headers... Acura Dealers won't void warranties on Comptech mods.

My owner's manual says "P" is for premium. For the record, I agree with you that the TL-P is enough. However, I plan no engine mods because our car is really no slouch....around 7 sec to 60 mph is good enough for me. I put the money I would have spent to buy the -S into suspension mods, which, frankly, both the -P and -S need to be a truly enjoyable drive. You should probably concentrate on getting rid of the "SUV" look the TL has, rather than messing with the engine.

In any case, you picked a great car, enjoy it along with everyone else on this site!

I have a TLS.

What I really want next for my car is Springs. I agree with neuronbob, if you have money to spend on engine mods, I would say go for Tien Coilovers... Or if thats too expensive go for H&R Springs.

Depends where you live... H&R OE Springs lower your car .50 &.75 inches... H&R Sports Springs will drop your car 1.50 & 1.75 inches...

You can buy these springs for about $130-$160... Installation should run you about $50-$100... not really sure about installation...

I dont mean to sound like a jerk but all of your questions could be answered by the hundreds if you did a simple search. If you have questions after that, then you could ask.

What exactly is the difference engine-wise between the TLP and TL-S?

Is it possible to upgrade those specific parts to basically turn a TLP into a TLS? What would the costs look like?

I had a TL-P. The only engine mod I had was an Ingen CAI. This was (in my opinion), the best mod possible for this car without trying to make a type-s out of it. The sound alone on that thing when you punched it was worth it's weight in gold...

Either way, nice car...Good luck with it.

-devnull

BTW: I now have a CL-S 6spd (no slushbox for me!!!) (hint hint to some, do a search)

The other guys are right, don't take them the wrong way...a search will get you the answer to this specific question on suspension mods. There is some debate as to whether Comptech springs (which I have and love, even the raked look it gives the car), coilovers, H&R OE or Sport springs are the best setup. Only by searching will you see the various arguments raised. Look in the Gallery, too, as a lot of folks here show off their lowered, kitted rides. To look at my unkitted, lowered ride, just click on the "My TL" link in my .sig . And, by the way, by federal law, your warranty is intact unless it can be proven that a specific aftermarket part caused a problem.
