Need advice on handling this situation...

Some of you guys may remember my post over a year ago about my 2002 WDP TL-s having a water leak to the drivers side floorboard after a REALLY strong rain. This leak has only occurred about a half dozen times during this year and a half I have had the car (mostly garage kept). First time service for leak at 5369 miles, sealed wiring harness in firewall. Second time service at 7693, resealed entire windshield. Third time service yesterday they were suppose to begin taking body panels off to determine leak. Service calls me today, car ready to pick up, service could not replicate my problem therefore they do not know what to fix to correct the leak! For over a year now I have been MMOORREE than understanding while they try to remedy this situation. All they told me today, bring it back when it rains or tell us more specifically where the water is coming into the vehicle. When I tell them WHERE I see it leak, what more can I do Anyone got advice on how to handle this situation without being TOO much of an @$$

Does your dealership have a car wash on site? Take a ride through it with them over and over to see if you can pinpoint the leak.

Just a thought...

I'd take copland's advice.. have them wash the car or something so you can show them the leak.

It sounds like the leak isn't happening all of the time... so if you can deal with it.... let it go b/c you'd be f*cking them good when you return the car!! LOL....

I know you shouldn't have to deal with it... so give them the car wash option, otherwise, go straight over their head to a Regional Manager or something....

They have run it through the car wash repeatedly but they keep telling me they cannot simulate rain conditions either. It does not "appear" to leak on just a regular rainy day, but when it comes what we call a "gulley-washer" I can always be greeted by a puddle in the floorboard!! I am at a loss what to do, I pay what everyone else pays to lease this car (or close to it) and they do not have to deal with this headache!!! Acura tells me they have NEVER heard of this problem before, I think they do not believe me... Grrrrrr...

TLS-Fiend,
I've had my fair share of water leaks on the honda CRV's and several 98-99 accords.. Most techs will blow it off...ah i don't see anything.... Reason being 'flat rate'/warranty doesn't pay the bills....
First thing I would try is park the car on a dry surface, open the moon roof all the way and get a gallon of water and pour it in the rain channel on both sides. Now look under the car you should see 4 puddles of water. You should see the puddles behind the front tires and behind the rear tires. If you do, you know that the moon roof drains are ok....
Now get a garden hose and let it run down the winshield keep moving it around till you get that puddle.... once you do mark the area with masking tape and bring it to the dealer...
I know you shouldn't be doing this... but like I said I worked with a lot of technicians and everyone hates water leaks... you spend more time on it then you get paid for...
Once i spent 9 hrs on a water leak -- pulled a dash board off a CRV gutted the front of the interior just to get paid 4.3hrs boy was I pissed off!

mp3coupe is right. The only way is to run it with a garden hose. You might even try it with a spray nozzle on it to put some pressure on it. Typically, its either the moonroof drains or a leak somewhere around the base of the windshield or wiper arms. I had a leak on my wifes Grand Am years ago in the drivers door. We had just started dating and her "body repairman" friend couldn't ever fix her door leaking water into the drivers floorboard area after a heavy rain. I took off the door panel, ran a hose on the outside of the window and found that the water dripped down inside like it was supposed to but then went against the door panel because the interior steel structure of the door had been altered. It was then that I informed my (future) wife that her car had been wrecked before and showed her the damage. I had to do some bending of sheetmetal to put things back correctly. It was also at this point I showed her some other anomalies with her car door that weren't right. I finally asked her where she had bought the car and she told me she bought it from the Avis used rental car lot!
