Navigation Install help
I seached and found only this:
I stand corrected. The signal you require is the BLU/WHT wire going from terminal A9 from the PCM to terminal 12 of the cruise control unit.
The Helms manual I have covers model 99 thru 03 and I was confused because the 99 models uses the counter shaft speed sensor instead of the PCM for the pulse signal.
What I need to know is where the Speed wire is located and what it looks like. And I also need to know where the Reverse wire is located. I have and 00 TL-P. All the help would be appreciated. Oh yea im installin and Pioneer Avic N2

As for the reverse wire, you can just tap the rear reverse lights. The speed wire should on above the pedal and a little bit towards the center console. It is a blue/white wire that you could tap.
JMAL has installed the AVIC as well and I installed a Kenwood but that is where I tapped the wires.

you can splice the blu/white wire to pin A9 on the PCM under the center of the dash. its a connector on the right side of the PCM, it was a 24 pin harness if i remember correctly with the same color wire (its the one closest to the rear if the car. the reverse signal can just be slpiced into the reverse lights as stated above, or you can do the factory splice which i believe was on a 2 or 3 wire harness not connected to anything on the right fuse box. if i remember correctly, it was a green/white wire. easiest bet is to go with the reverse lights, or check your helms for a local splice. i wish i had a digital camera at the time i did my conversion, i would have wrote up a very detailed DIY.
goood luck, any questions, i'll be glad to help and try and take some pictures of accessible connections (now that i have the camera) haha

Hey Thanks man. I been out there all this time looking for that wire. The one I spliced into is not the correct one cause I dont go anywhere when I start driving, just circles. You said it is a 24 pin connector so ima go out there now and take a pic to verify im right.

no, the PCM is in the middle of the car in the front under the radio on the floor. if you pull the carpet back on the right side of the middle of the car (where the passenger's left foot would be, you'll see the PCM mounted to the floor. that's the connector im talking about.

Update!!
I finally figured it out with help of course. This is the wire that has the speed pulse for all of you that want to know. I think it is the VSS wire. Anyway it give the speed pulse you need for the navigation system. It is on the passenger side under the carpet. Here is a pic

Hrmm, shouldn't be that far off. If you lose satellite signal (i.e. going through a tunnel), the navigation system should compensate by using the signal from the VSS to approximate the distance on the navi map until it gets the satellite signal back. Maybe the navi needs some time to get calibrated?

So I'm doing the same thing, and I found a blue with white stripe wire and tapped it, but it doesn't register on my AVIC-D2 as seeing a signal. Did I get the wrong one?
