Navi Pin
Bought my car used, don't have the Nav pin #. Can it be reset/found?
#2
I know you can get the radio to give up its code or get it online a few places
but navi ,,,anyone???
when mine was changed under warranty they forgot to write down the code
When I needed it- the tech removed the unit in the trunk and got secret serial number off the top off it
manager called corp and after a few attempts they tracked it down

sometimes its been written down on the car somewhere- edge of glovebox door, under fuse panel covers- ck the ones under the hood --all of them
some years had a small white sticker with it printed on it, others had sales or owner write it down in car
look under center console lid, under center drink holder...
its 5 digit for the radio, example 23454 and nav is 4 digit 1234

I have the Navi code & radio code. It's the personal PIN# that I don't have. Is there a factory set pin I can try? Or is it something that the first owner set up?

ohh ok, thats much better!
the personal pin is only if you want to run 2 `seperate address books` with stored locations in the gps
-so another driver doesnt see yours, or you go to a lot of the same places all the time~
factory default is usually 4 digit run 0000 1234 9999 something like that
you can use the normal functions without the special pin
if the last owner actually set it, you need that code
ask the service manager or parts manager at dealer- they may know something!!
note- you probably have a nav disc several years old
to ck version number turn key to ON, go in trunk and push the button on nav drive unit,
disc pops out
It will be a certain color and version listed on it
they are not interchangeable between years and car models, and alpine is the only place to get one- thru acura
ck that info against the new list http://www.navigation.com/is-bin/INT.../Default-Start
You can see each versions list of updated cities, sometimes you can buy a used disc with all the updates you need for 50 bucks
new disc are 175~
no you cant get a bootleg copy- dont even think about that on here!
register with acura and get 25$ discount coupon for next release version disc

I don't recall what I was trying to do in it, but it popped up and asked for a pin#. I don't know if the previous owner changed it, so I'll try some of the default codes & see if it works.
I def need to get an updated DVD, mine is the original from when the car was bought.

OP is asking about the `personal` PIN for the address books,, where you can store like 100 places you go to, there are 2 such storage areas
If you are in sales and have lots of contacts and need to track miles and plan the days route- thats a handy feature
the regular `previous destinations` log of addresses wipes itself clean as it goes past about 15-20 places you have been
My opinion is not to load the address book, or even my real home address in the gps- if the car is stolen they have all that info~ not good!!
OP ck the `audio` threads section- might be better help in there from their guru's

as vman found- having the security codes written somewhere is very handy
I suggest somewhere under a fuse cover of glovebox door end
maybe write them down backwards for security~ (tell the next owner if you ever part with your baby)
no code = no good unit- = not worth stealing!!
as if anyone would steal our stereos or 10 year old nav~
note- on your acura.com owner account there is a secure storage area for those codes so you dont store them in the car,,extra safety against item theft
One ziner was on a roadtrip and the battery failed (should have had tested before trip but...)
While waiting in the customer lounge- used their internet to log into his acura.com account and get his codes..result 7 hours with music on the way home
