Navi DVD copy?

Hi, I'm looking for anyone who would be willing to make a copy of the latest non-voice activated navi disc (ver 2.11C) I am willing to pay the expense of media/shipping etc. to someone willing to help me out on this. feel free to respond to this thread, or PM me if you like. Thanks in advance to anyone who can help.

I would also be much obliged if someone would provide just the rip of the navi disc and I could burn it myself, if you're able to make the large file transfer (probably an over-nighter)

what kind of help are you looking for? and it's a little bit more legal if you were giving them away then ask for a suggested "donation".

Do I need to quote my first post? I'm looking for someone to make me a copy, i'm not making copies for people. As far as you know, it's for perfectly legal reasons. disc has a prob, need a new one. and no i dont need anyone posting on here telling me to buy a new one, or telling me not to be cheap.

I'll bet that someone with the latest DVD and a dual layer DVD burner could probably solicite ALOT of "donations" if they were to offer......anyone?...anyone?
I kow I'd be interested!

I havn't heard of anyone making a copy of the newest navi disc yet.

NAWW, if your having problems with your disc take it back to the dealer, i'm sure they'll swap it out for you.

How do you know if the burnt DVD will work on the Acural Navi system ? It might be just like the Acura HU which does not like the CD-Rs.

Just my $0.02.

Dunno how you'd fit the v2.11C version onto a non Dual Layer disc, assuming the disc v2.11c itself uses more than space than a single layer DVD (4.5GB).

However, I do know of a few people who have copied the earlier versions of the NAVI disc which was only single layer (less than 4.5GB). The Acura NAVI system reads the DVD writable (not sure if there was a preference towards DVD-R versus DVD+R tho). However, it doesn't always read it perfectly. Routes take longer to calculate in some cases, and sometimes it refuses to read the burned disc, giving you an error when the NAVI starts up.

Remember, if your v2.11c disc copy is problematic, you can't just go back to the older disc ... You'd need to have a dealer do it for you. (I think if you search hard enough you can find someone who posted how to do it yourself, but its not as easy as popping the old disc back in).

Personally, the older version I have knows almost every route I need so I'm not worried about upgrading. I'd also rather just buy a new disc than worry about a burned copy that may not work all the time.

I can vouch for that. It's a one way trip from 2.04 to 2.11. I've never seen instructions that work posted on how to go back.

I'm glad you're all so full of knowledge about how you can't downgrade from 2.11c. But the question I originally asked is if someone could get me a copy of it. And yes, I know it's possible. I contacted a dude who is using a backup in his TL right now.
