Angry Navi ?

Is there a way to bypass the warning screen that pops up each time the Navi powers up. I have only had the car two weeks and I am getting very tired of tapping OK to get thru this screen. Would like it to pop up on the map guide screen. Any ideas anyone?

I believe there is no way to bypass this. It is a common feature of navigation systems. If you've ever rented a Hertz car with NeverLost you get a simmilar screen, as on all other systems too. I guess the legaleeze sorta protects them from being sued.

Several people have tried but have been unsuccessful. One person every tried downloading the the DVD contents, editing it and burning a new DVD. No luck. There has been talk that the DVD is double layered. No consumer DVD burner can burn a double layered DVD, at the moment.

Maybe someone can make an electronic tapper.

Little tiny device that clips on to the edge of the navi screen and its job is to tap the screen once when the car is first powered up.

If its any consolation I have to do the same thing with my Alpine NVE-N851a DVD navigation and CVA-1005. One question I do have for you guys with the factory Navi.......can you enter in a destination while the vehicle is in motion or does the navi require you to stop and then enter in a destination? My Alpine Navi requires that the parking break be on...so I put an on-off switch in to get around this......but with the switch on when I try to enter in a destination it comes up with a prompt that says "if you are driving, pull over to enter a destination"----(or sumthing to this effect)....I then have to use the remote to enter "ok" and then it allows me to continue.

Yup we can eneter in destinations whenever we want, just need to use some common sense and good judgement.

I wish we could set the Navi to a default of off. Sometimes I dont need to see the screensaver background and clock.

Is that a screensaver? I was noticing that the dot pattern never changed, so it seemed to defeat the purpose of a screensaver.

It's an LCD, right? So a screensaver isn't really needed. Think of it as eye candy (which is what so many screensavers really are).
