Question Nav Shuts down while driving

Today my nav shut down while I was driving. It was the "System is now shutting down to conserve battery" message that popped up. Like if you were in ACC with the car not running, the only problem is it does it while my car is running. I pulled the console apart and looked for loose wires and couldn't find anything wrong. Does anyone have any ideas?

I guess that could be a possibility but I am not getting a battery light on my dash and everything else seems to be running ok. I have been getting a battery and brake light on my dash for the past couple months. Originally I thought that was the alternator, but when I changed that, I still got the lights. I've had a few places check it out with no one able to figure out what's causing the light, but again, everything seemed to have been working ok, until this incident with the nav.

You said both that you are not getting a battery light, and that you ARE getting a battery light-

I am not getting a battery light lately, however, I was getting an intermittent battery and brake light that no one was able to find a cause for. The battery light has not come on since this issue with the nav.

Definitely not the battery. Had it tested and oddly enough it did need to be replaced. So I bought a new battery thinking that was the cause for my issues with the nav, however, it happened again after I put the new battery in. I'm at a loss at this point. When I have some time maybe I'll trace every wire in the system but at this point I give up.

What does the voltage measure at the drive & at the head unit supply leads?

Have you reset the nav?

Not sure what the voltage reads and I've contemplated resetting the nav in case there is something in the system logs that the dealership could use if I were to bring it to them. Maybe I'll give it a shot anyway.
