NAPA Gold oil filter

does anyone use them? from what i've read on other sites, this particular filter seems to get more positive reviews than bad. besides K&N (which are great but kinda pricey), i think this may be the next best filter i can get around here locally cuz Mobil 1 aint oil filters aint available in Canada and i don't really wanna order anything online (ie.amsoil). i haven't even seen STP or Bosch (also Champions filter although someone said recently these filters suck now). so just wondering if anybody recommends them and, if so, what the part # is for our car.

It is a good upper middle class filter - I prefer the Purolator Pure One's.

On the S2000 forum, there have been many reports of the Mobil filter o-ring giving up and oil leaks following, in several cases catastrophic. I did not have this problem on my TL, however.

so i picked up a NAPA Gold filter today, but it doesn't say anywhere on the package what it's recommended mileage is. i'm gonna go with Mobil 1 synthethic, so I was thinking my new oil change interval will be 8000 km (just under 5000 miles) up from the recommended 6000 km. that should be ok for this particular oil filter?

Purolator is a good filter, it filters very good. But I am conserned about restriction of the flow?

if i saw them or if they were available in Canada, i'd grab a M1 or Purolator or even a Bosch or STP but didn't see any...all that orange FRAM crap everywhere. my 3 choices were basically the K&N (almost twice the cost of the NAPA Gold), the NAPA Gold (those oil filter reviews rate Wix filters favorably) or OEM (which i was trying to stay away). if i see the K&N ever go on sale, i'd prob pick up one for the next oil change.

Thumbs up NAPA Gold

My mechanic swears by the NAPA filters, and the NAPA dealer has a display with a variety of cut open filters. The NAPA has the most filter material.

I've used them on Mazdas, Preludes, Acuras... they've been great.
And, only $5-$6 each.

Always used FRAM, its what the local parts stores sell. Never any complaints, I never gave it too much thought. I use the Fram on my race car, too. Not too bad for $2.00

Fram makes the worst oil filters, especially for $2.00 - you are getting the lowest end filter. For $5 Puralator is far better choice

Do youself a favor ans stay away fron Fram POS.... I have cut a few different types open and they have the least in filter media and they have cardboard ends and no spring preasure relief system..
You can do far better for just a few dollars more.
