okay...so i take a lot of trips to Austin Texas from Houston......and yesterday was a day when i went to San Antonio from austin. on the way back...the car drives fine....notcied my VSA light came ona nd the check engine like...didnt think ne thing of it cuz the car is still driving....i drive back to the place im staying...and the car WOULD NOT go passed 20...when i stopped at a light....luckily we were just down the street. the next day i wake up to PRAY that my car works so i can make it home...because its a Sunday and NO DEALERSHIPS ARE OPEN> =/ ...ne who..i turn the car on...and put it in reverse...it move... i take a drive around the neighborhood and it goes pass 20...im happy ....so i take the car back to houston....and it does it again EVERYTIME I STOPP AT A LIGHT....so what i did was turn the car off then on...then it was back to normal..WEIRD? i end up making it home...after a few stops to let the car cool down..

So my question is.... if i were to get stuck in AUstin...would Acura pay the Towing Costs?

and when i go to the dealership to get my car fixed.....how can i get a 04-05 TL to drive around? im 20 btw....should i tell them my parents likes the NEW TL and wants to Test drive it....and i'll drive my parents car?

My second tranny died on my '03 TL-S last week. I called Acura Roadside assistance to get towed and they told me I was covered for $100 of towing, which equalled about 40 miles for me. After the $100, I was told it was $2.50 per mile. I ended up being 39 miles from a dealer, so I didn't pay anything. When I asked the service guy at the dealership what would happen if it was farther, he said that I could pay it and them submit the expense to Acura, with no guarantee that they would pay.

That is just my experience......Could be different for others.

I would think that if you got stuck in Austin, they would tow the car to the nearest Acura dealership and then give you a rental. They would then probably make you come back to austin to get your car.... so it comes down to their money, but it is your time..... I would not expect them to tow the car back to houston, does not seem economical for the company......

I agree with what he is agreing to

they will to it to the closest acura dealer. which for me is about 1hr 30+ min away and they said they would tow it for free if i couldnt make it (when my first tranny was dieing)

i spoke to acura today..and they woodve just towed it to the one closest to austin. but since im 20 they wouldnt give me a loaner because of the fact that i am 20! so i would be screwed or getr a friend thats 21 to get the loaner.

HOW DO I GET A 05 TL? i called gillman. and they use enterprise...inw hich i do not want to get a FOCUS or anything...

its totally up to the dealer. some will some wont. there is no sure fire way of getting one. unless you have your parents bring the car in and have them say they want the new tl as a loaner (if the dealer uses them as loaners) other wise you may be stuck with a focus
