Hey guys. So lets start this story out right by prefacing all that was supposed to be accomplished today by Acura....

1.) Install a clear bra on my ABP 2002 TL-S.

That is all.

Appointment was around 9am. I live 40 miles from the dealer I go to now that I've moved to be closer work. I work about 70 miles from the dealer I go to. Therefore, I set it up so I could drop the car off at 6am before opening. I specifically specified with the guy in charge of these types of accessory installs that I wanted the entire front end done, the bumper was a concern because it already has a few nicks in it. He called the installer they use (outsourced) and confirmed it would be ok to install on the bumper as is.

I went to pick my car up at around 6:20 (service closed at 6). Not only is the bumper not done, but the part of the hood that is done and the mirrors...look like complete shit. There are bubbles, ripples, A PIECE OF HAIR, and blemishes. Now...I installed the rockblocker on my headlights myself and had no problems...but I figure leave the paint portion to the pros. The guy who does it is certified with XPEL to install their product. The product was much much cheaper than the rockblocker, very thin. I was so frustrated. So I refused to pay and of course because service is closed they have few alternatives.

So I received a rental from them ('05 Red TL) and parked my car in their garage since I refused to leave it outside. So I am thinking about all the bullshit I will have to deal with tomorrow and how they can easily make it my word vs there word by lying and saying that I never requested the bumper, etc. (even though the current application of product looks horrendous.

Head over to my gf's brother's house (old roommate, that is how I met my gf...cool huh?) to take him out for a ride and get dinner. Get on the freeway and just cannot resist...check for cops....on it. Got it up to way faster than I had planned on. Check my mirror and I see this black sedan flying up behind me and I think wtf. So I brake and change lanes. Undercover cop flips on all these hidden lights (integrated into the top of his dash and side view mirrors, etc). I was well into loosing my license speed limits.

First thing out of my mouth is that I was testing the brakes cause they were shaking at high speeds. Dumb. He says, "bullbshit, license please." Says he's calling me a tow truck. I'm worried sick since this isn't my car. He comes back in about 3 minutes of me freaking out in my head and hands me license and tells me to slow down and that he could have had it revoked. Walks away.

That is my day.

At the dealer 2morrow just remain calm, no matter what you do. Let them be the first to start getting upset if it gets that far. Then tell them you want to talk to the manager. Smart sales/service people try to handle it and just pass it to the manager if they cant. Stupid ones get pissy with you, then use that to your advantage. "I choose to goto your delearship to have this work done (show color photo of what the film is supposed to look like and pull it off the company and if it is on there acuras website) and I get this (show him your car). Wouldnt you be upset if you paid to have someone the $$ to do this (show photo) to do this instead. All I want it to have it done right, or have it taken off and get my money back. If the manager is a dick, just tell him simply well Im not happy, I feel like Ive been taken advantage of, and I dont plan on letting this go. Just leave it at that, and then go write a letter to the better business beauru and cc the dealership and honda america, and write a letter to honda america and cc the dealership and bbb. If that doesnt work pm me for instructions to file in small claims court for breach of contract.

Whoa talk about major suckage....Dont worry dude its Karma man, if they jip you off one of these days all that lying will catch up to them sooner or later. But see where you went wrong was that you tried to lie to the Cops and that is a big nono, you know your not going to get away with speeding no matter what unless you have a pregnant wife or someone thats really ill in there. The first part with Acura trying to rip you off well like I said it is Karma and they will see what happens to them and I pray the same for Paragon Acura for ripping me off too and lying...sure its like heck make me pay alittle but damn atleast fix the problem.

my day? well.... on my way home from work, im going up the freeway.. hill. and pass up like 3-4 cars all not cops, then start going downhill... couldnt resist, ended up hitting about 118 mph or so.. and all of a sudden my brand new escort 8500 x50 starts going CRAZY!! its beeping hella loud all different things at a time... IM LIKE "WHAT THE FUCK!!! SHIT OMG!" and i slow down as fast as I can.. down to about 75 MPH, then like 8-12 cops cars with their lights on fly by me doin like 100! I WAS LIKE DAMN!!!! close call... lucky i just got my radar detector yesterday!

you should prob. invest in one ur self!

As of right now I am waiting for a call back this morning from the dealership to try and sort this out.

I am unsure why the officer let me go. I am assuming that he ran the plates and saw it was owned by Acura of Brookfield so maybe that threw him off. He told me I would lose my license if he wrote me a ticket so maybe he was just cutting me a break so I wouldn't be placed in that situation of having to deal with court and a possible work only license. My gf's bro was so shocked that I could break a hundred in front of a cop and not get a ticket. However he wasn't radaring so maybe that also factored in.

I have no problem staying calm but I hate when things are out of order for my car. It is just my personality...I like things perfect on my vehicles. So this is just eating at me and interfering with my work day, etc. I'll let you guys know how it plays out.

Got my car back last nite. They removed the film for me, no charge. What a waste of my time. Although I did get to drive a new TL for a day so that was cool I suppose.

My impressions of the '05 TL I had? I liked it and I didn't. I've driven one before but never for this long of a period.

I thought that it handled fairly well for stock. At times it seemed too bumpy, bumpier than my TL-S on H&R Sports. It handled about the same as my TL-S but that might be cause of the wider tires on it (235's).

I really didn't like the stereo at all. I got back into my car and it was like relief. I was only listening to XM but the subwoofer was almost non existent even when I turned the sub to maximum.

I like the interior a lot, the dash lights and really bright and nice and the car wraps around you as a driver. The shifter is set up really well too.

Transmission was smooth as can be most the time.

Acceleration was strong, I liked the power at low end, top end my TL has more power but thats cause of my headers and pulley I am sure.

Don't like the fog lights being integrated into the headlights...seems like a horrible design IMO.

I like how wide the car is.

My friend commented that my seats are nicer and more comfy, I agree. These pinched into your sides a little too much.

The rental from Acura had 23,000 miles on it. The brake rotors were warped and the steering wheel shook whenever I braked. I know this car must have been beat on as a rental but still....23,000 miles, the brakes on my TL-s didn't warp till 54,000. I thought they fixed this but I guess not. Now I dunno if this model had the brembos or not, not too familiar with the 3G's and if those are standard on all the TLs or not, didn't have time to really check out the exterior of the car unfortunately with work and driving back to Milwaukee for this bullshit.

All of my dislikes are minor except the brake thing. I would consider buying the new TL-S that is coming out next year if Acura would just go rear wheel drive. I won't buy another FWD car I don't think till I pick up a RWD first.

In the future do not lie to the police. Next time the first thing out of your mouth should be "I am very sorry officer, i am an idiot for putting myself and others in danger for driving so fast. If you could spare me on this one i would be very greatful" And you should say all of that before you give him your stuff, becasue once you do he wont talk to you.
