Cool My horn...

...sounds like a clown car.

Not only is this a problem of safety, but is downright embarrasing when I need to use my horn and for it to sound like a children's toy.

Anyone else experience this, or know ball park how much it would cost to fix?

Your horns probably just went out. Shouldn't cost too much to replace them. It should be a high tone horn and low tone horn.

... or get an air horn. ( i'm not talking train horn) there are kits that are small and powerful. They don't sound bad either.

on my 01 there is a horn in the center of the car in front of the radiator, and another hidden behind the bumper on driver side
I had assumed the hidden one was for the alarm.

Bought a "freway blaster 120db" horn at Harbor Frieght, 5 bucks-
need to install that and my mini fog lights
Welcome to winter!

I couldn't find the horn you mentioned online at harbor freight. where would you install it? since it is long, I can hardly find any space for it.

shouldn't be costly, or hard to do.

reminds me of a time when my mom had a cavalier and we had to choose between a horn as bad as the one you describe, and power door locks needless to say, we went for the latter.

no....
Don't get the horn from harbor freight.
I know it's cheap.
Me and my buddy bought the air horn from there, and only works for a few month.

Not everything cheap is crap (most, but not all) so as the saying goes, "You get what you pay for".
