My blue cathode setup....

There has been a lot of cathode threads lately, so here's how mine look. Ordered from Oznium. one in each footwell, 2 under each seat, and 2 in the back window to shine it blue at night. Thurs i will be putting cathodes in my back bumper to shine blue on my license plate.

Pic of the switch box in my center console:

and another

Ok, for power, i drilled holes through the top center console section, and drilled holes through the bottom as well, putting all the wires through. I took apart the console and merged the 12v source with the switch box. Wires then run under the carpets and through the console to the cathode transformers/tubes.

Unlit backwindow cathodes, i know, looks awful in daylight, but at night the whole backwindow glows blue. The transformer for these cathodes is in the trunk, below the child seat lock.

Here's how my ipod is wired, the dock wraps around into the center console 12v source. No cupholders, but you get a cool spot for an ipod.

And my new sticker

Sorry i didn't make a DIY for this, all comments welcome. I know i know it may look ricey, but it's cool when your 17 like me.

looks like its time for tint. you will still see the blue at night but you wont notice the cathodes as much during the day. and it will look much better overall

Good job! Very nice idea to put the control box inside the center console. I might do the same but instead of putting 2 cathods on the back of the window, I will put the cathods under the back front seat so that it will shine the back seat.

You might get trouble from cops for having that blue glow around your back windshield

For the back window wires, get some black electrical tape and wrap around the white wires so they can be more hidden.

Where's you get the switch box? I assume it basically cuts power to the transformers.

Look, when i was 17, what you did there with all those blue cathodes is DEFF JUST RICEY and no it aint cool when your 17 to do it like that. No matter what age you are, if you own a TL, don't RICE it out. I dont care what age anyone is, it aint cool to make it ricey period, but thats just my opinion. TO EACH HIS OWN. That to me is waaayyy outtahand. Cathodes in the back over the back seat has GOTS TO GO, you can see the entire cathode and the wires and shit. Whatever floats your boat like i said. Anyways, Good job none the less.

When you were 17..? That wasn't too long ago was it!

I don't get it, you're saying he shouldn't do what he's doing, but at the same time you're telling him to do what he wants...?

I've seen so many different things here on AZ... for me it comes down to this:

If it's ugly...whatever, I don't care cuz I don't have to drive it!

If it's nice, I'd like to know what was involved in doing it.

looks very nice...im sure it looks awesome on the back windows at night but that'd prolly eventually get on my nerves, very unique idea tho! watch out for cops, ud prolly get pulled over by a dick for that

all in all, very nice, clean setup too, i might eventually do that with my footwells with some red cathodes

He probably wouldn't ride around with them on all the time... he does have a switch...
ricey?... maybe, but at least the job looks neat.

I think it looks pretty good for under the seats, but the window stuff should probably be saved for being parked during the local late night spots and looking pretty...

That looks like crap! Wires running every where, tubes showing, and neons? You just turned it into a busted ass ride. But go for it, it will just make mine look better. Oh and believe me, when people see crap like that they dont say "oh damn look at that sweet ride" instead they say "look at that piece of shit, wtf is he thinking".
