Muffler Thoughts

Has anybody taken the mufflers from the 03 CL-S and put in our TL-S? I think their mufflers look 100x better than ours.

They are a little bigger and are not loud. That's why I was thinking their mufflers instead of going aftermarket. I plan on putting on the WW rear lip and think they will fit perfectly.

Kev, unfotunately the CL-S tips are welded onto the muffler itself (I looked into this way back).

Yeh I went into the local Acura parts department a couple years back asking to purchase a set of the CL muffler tips. The parts guy did a search and couldn't find a separate part number for the tips. He told me it looked like they were actually part of the muffler. Quite surprised, I decided check one of the CLs out just to make sure. Sure enough the tips were actually part of the muffler.

I was looking around and found that 3A racing does make tips that look similar but they are clamp on. I'm not sure how well they would stay on. You'd most likely want to weld them somehow to make sure that they stay.

Why not you don't have to tell them it's for a TL unless you have them doing the work for you.

The OEM TL tips are bolt/clamp style too . They are held on by bolts. They will stay on if attached properly

Bro, found them off the 3A racing (manufacturer of the tips)website. You might have to contact them to see who their online distributors are. http://www.3aracing.com/

Kris, I knew bolt on required the tightening of bolts around the existing exhaust pipe (I've already changed mine out), but I was assuming clamp on did not utilize bolts to hold them in place (that is why I never considered clamp on applications), was I mistaken?
