Question Motul 600 Brake Fluid

I plan on getting new rotors/ brake pads/stainless steel brake lines and I wanted to change the brake fluid. Anyone hear of this brand? Any other recommendations/brands?

Mike...heard of it but don't know anyone that's used it. Are u having the guys at Park Ave work on the brakes? I was thinking about having the stainless steel lines put in as well. I'm curious to hear about the change. Let us know how it works out for you.

When I went AutoXing one of the techs said that my brakes were too soft (I barely passed tech) Anyhow he suggested I bleed the brakes or flush it and use Motuls or some other performance fluid. I am planning on doing this but havent gotten a chance to. After doing some research with Magnetic1, we found that if you go with race brake fluid (Motul 600), they recommend that you change it more often than the other line (Motul 5.1). With the race brake fluid they suggested after each season or sometimes after each race. Anyhow, this is what I gathered when we researched.

Good luck.

PhiTL, your brakes probably needed to be bled after your last outing to Summit Point. I always get spongy brakes when I come back from a day at a road course. Once the brakes are bled, they're good as new. I won't bother with Motul 600 unless you plan on spending some serious track time every weekend. Castrol GTLMA or even Honda brake fluid works for me.

Did a little research and found out that the MOTUL 600 is strictly for racing. It has the tendency to absorb moisture thus necessitating it's frequent changing. If we want to upgrade our brake fluid, along with new rotors/pads/ss brake lines, then we can use MOTUL 5.1 . This is a high performance brake fluid for everyday use. Just FYI.

You are correct about the moisture aspect.....I was told by several "Techs" not to use anything in our cars but "Honda-Acura" brake fluid......and no it's not because that's all they sell, they sell Motul as well.....:p
