Post Which mod was a waste of your time and money?

Ok, so far my mods have been well worth it. I had a CAI before in another car and I really did not think it was worth the effort. Does anyone else have a similar experience with their mod so we can stay clear of it?

I feel that most of my mods were worth the money. Sure I have some rice mods ie. seatbelt pads, emblems, etc. but those were chump change. My major mods I feel were well worth it(especially the drop and the bodykit) and they definately changed the whole attitude of the car. It's no longer a grocery hauler. It's now a clean mean street eating machine. lol

I don't know, but I am having second doubts about the headers that I just installed. I thought I would notice a bigger difference. Maybe I am just trippin or expect too much. As for the other mods, I am pleased. I really think on a car like the TL, the looks are more important than performance.

I don't regret anthing though I have noticed the BMW's and the Porsche Turbo's that have smoked rear signals which blink yellow. I think it looks slightly better than clear white.

The POS SE-520B dome light really sucks, but that was only $20. Could've done without the Solris high beams, although they are very bright and its nice when some idiot pisses you off or won't get out of your way.

I'm with you the whole way. I'm hoping the new plugs and resetting the ECU will create some noticable gains. I very well could have been expecting too much too. For the price and minimal gains, if I had the chance, I would've just saved the money.

Why is it that the type-S guys gain more from the same headers than regular TL's do???

Having a larger throttle valve might have
something to do with it. Hey it's a Type-S! If I had one I would hope it would be better tuned than the regular 3.2!

Although I don't have pulleys on this car, knowing what I know about them, I would have to respectively disagree with rice. Are you speaking from first-hand experience rice?

I bought an indiglo Acura badge & never installed it. I felt maybe I was getting a little too ricey. I've seen it in silver CL-S and it looks sweet, something about the red & the silver go together. I look at my TL in laguna as touring luxury car and just don't think it would look right...

I was thinking about my headers until someone told me that without replacing the stock muffler and catalytic converter; the headers really would not show much improvement.
I agree with whoever said that the best upgrades are to the exterior. The 2002 tails seem pretty expensive but they sure are a nice improvement. Maybe that might be my next mod if I can get myself to pay $300+ for tail lights.

a car that is more tuned from the factory usually is harder to get more power out of.

Greddy Exhausts. I dont' think I gained much power, but gained a hell of a lot of noise. And I think they cost like over $800 installed. Pure waste IMO.
