When you are paying that type of money for a new car, you should be able to account for all of the miles on the odometer. My new TLS had 6 miles when it came off the truck. I suspect that a truly new TLS from the factory should have no more than 10 miles. (Im guessing here)

Good luck
Couldn't agree more. 6 miles on mine when I inspected it.

Walk Away!! Dealers can wait, and I wish they would learn that pressure won't work. You pay for what you want. I did.

Mt TL-S had 6 miles on it as well. . . They had offered me a different car at first with 40 miles on it but I told them to keep it and give me a NEW car. . .

Mine had 4 to 5 miles on it. 120 miles is waaaayyy to many. Fight them on it! Either get a really good discount ($200 in accessory is not good enough) with extended warranty at the dealers expense or walk away from the deal...

Although it is way better to get a new car with as very little mileage on the odometer as possible, to say that getting one with a lot of miles--which from reading on this group may mean anything with more than a dozen miles) almost always means that there will be problems with the car down the line is stretching it just a bit. Odds are that some of you guys will get rid of your cars (sell/trade/whatever) way before any serious problems start popping up. Plus, low (e.g., less than 5) miles doesn't guarantee anything--ask the tranny folks how many miles they had on their cars at the time of purchase...and yes, I know that the tranny problems weren't due to owner abuse, but still. Didn't someone on this board even had his engine swapped out due to problems not of his doing? I wonder how many miles were on the engine when he bought his car?

Mine had 145

But as someone else stated, this was the only ABP TL-S in the San Gabriel Valley at the time per Acura's website. When I got there and saw the mileage, I nearly walked out but I was told that the car was a dealer swap. So I asked for a sweet heart deal and they agreed. They offered free window tint, I said no. They said how 'bout a spoiler, my response "not enough", finally they threw in Lowjack. All for 31,500 plus taxes etc. when it was selling like hot cakes last June.

That's when I said okay.

Overall I'm extremely happy with the car and it's very reliable and has NEVER stranded me or let me down, after 9000 miles.

Just to let everyone know, I told the dealer that I didn’t want this car. And since he couldn’t find another one, I said the deal was off and I’ll just keep my current car (2001 S4). Not sure what I’m going to do next.

To answer some questions, there is only one dealer in Memphis so I guess I won’t be getting another Acura anytime soon. Also, while negotiating the deal, I told the salesman that I wanted a car with low miles (less than 20). They said that the dealer that they swapped with didn’t let them know that the car had this many miles on it. I’m not sure that I believe them. Oh well, thanks for your advise.

I dunno if I would believe them either. The inherint problem here is that some dealers are schmucks, and some are honest. All that matters, is that you didn't take the car you didn't want. Sorry to hear they screwed your deal up. Hope you get the car you want, man. Don't settle for anything other than that. Mine just happened to be the TL Type S.

Good luck finding your new car.
