Ok, the lady who picked up didn't seem to want to help me... She ended up putting me on hold and transferring to some other guy.

Basically, he said they don't have replacement headers yet, but that they might be getting them in tomorrow? I have to call back in a few days. He also told me that after I received my headers, I'd have to ship back one header to insure that I don't try to resell these headers.

Blah...My plan was to resell these headers to a v6 Accord owner, since the fitment problem supposedly has to do with these being designed for the Accord. I was going to use the $ from the sale of the old headers to pay for the installation of the replacement set. Ugh.

This sucks, I'm driving down to Florida from NC next week, and the annoyingass buzz from the headers is going to drive me nuts. I'm also not too comfortable about the downpipe touching oilpan

I didn't buy them from the group buy, I was the jackass that missed it and paid $250 for some headers that sound like crap. I have been talking directly with Calvin ever since. However, I can get you a copy of my receipt if it will expedite this cluster%&*!

Yes, my ticking went away after a while, but I now have some slight resonance. I also have a very slight whistle (not hiss). My headers sound really crappy too. when I accelerate the exhaust sound is VERY raspy/grainy.

You guys think I have an exhaust leak?

I know I need to get the bolts re-torqued. That should help the resonance becuase I didn't have any at first. But I am concerned about the raspy/grainy noise coming when I accelerate.

Any suggestions?

Angry

The sound I am having seems to be a result of the down pipe resting against the oil pan. It seems to "rattle" at certain rpm's...also whenever I jump on the accelerator which I believe is due to engine "flex" and the down pipe pressed against the oil pan. I had a pro-shop install them, went back to have retorqued which wasn't the problem. While on the stand, one tech was in the drivers seat pressing the accelerator while me and the other tech inspected underneath. The sound seemed to come from the flex tubing area, reminding me of my daughters, brass rattle only much louder and faster. It definitely doesn't sound "leaky" to me, but all I know is it is annoying as hell and I want it FIXED! Angry

Sorry for the long wait guys

People who have confirmed with me will get their replacement downpipe in less than two weeks(most likely a week but two so i dont get flammed). Its not a whole new header set, just a newly designed downpipe especially for the tl. The downpipe will clear the oil pan for sure. Also, Since its just the downpipe, you guys DONT have to send in the old one. Just toss it out. Again, thanks for the wait.

*MIkelee, i still need your address for the two sets.

Same here. Leaking/resonance getting worse and worse. Just for clarification keepinitclean, are we also getting a new set of headers then too?

Thanks.

got my replacement downpipe along with new gaskets today, thanks alot keepingitclean, excellent customer service from Megan.

I think i might try installing this set of headers bymyself and then go tell the fool at the muffler shop to tighten the bolts cuz i dont feel like spending another 200 for him to take everything off and put it back on.

this should be pretty easy right? I jacked up my car and put it on stands, the downpipe u all know is very simple to jus take out, the ends are where i think i might have trouble but it doesnt look too hard.

Just one question...

Are the gaskets i was sent any different or would they be the same? I don't know if mine are leaking from the gaskets and if these new ones are any better...but should i take the time to take everything out and reinstall them with all the new gaskets i recieved?
