Megan Headers

Just wondering how many of you guys out there have megan headers? are they good? and also i wanted to know what would these headers do other than increase the HP. sorry for the newbie question but just wanted to know if this would give me a stronger sound to the engine. i already have a k & N short Intake and it sounds very nice. thanks in advance guys

i heard a little bit of a sound difference with mine but it won't be that major. if you really want a nice sound then you need to concentrate more on your intake. i would recommend an AEM intake if you want volume, and a Comptech icebox if your more interested in a refined sound.

the megans are worth it though. i have an older batch and even though it rattles sometimes the power is worth it. the new batches shouldn't have that problem though.

I had Megans on my previous tl and I cut out the first flex pipe n put a straight pipe in place. It still had resonance.

yeah i did the straight pipe too. that really only helps the rattlesnake noise, the resonance i think is the downpipe hitting my subframe but i haven't actually proven it.

the new batch of megans are more promising. personally i think they're well worth the money. i haven't heard of megan's with bad welds or any of that, just the resonance on some batches and the rattlesnake noise. both of which can be fixed for much less than a $1200 price tag for comptech headers.

i have had my megans on for a year or so now. I have no resonance but i have extreme rattles. the downpipe hits the frame when it's cold or under acceleration. I filed down the frame a little and that helped but it's a hastle. this is the old batch so i'm sure it's much better now.

What about the newest revision to the DC sports ceramic headers? I heard they no longer have the gasket leaking issue.

I had the megans for about 2 years now. i had no problems with fit but the resonace noise is about to kill me already. good thing i have my apexi's cause it covers up the cricket resonance. im probably thinking of switching to the xs's soon. but other than that megans did last a long time and they are still performing great.

I have a megan from the new batch and at first had some resonance but then i figured out that i had them reversed, so i uninstalled and the fitment was better with no problems.

Thanks

I'm trying to install mine soon (I bought them used a few months ago with the 2nd flexpipe already welded out... looked like good weld work to me) I've got an intake and spacers, so this'll be my next mod... once I get them in, I'll let you know what I think of them... my friend keeps trying to sell me header wrap, so I might invest in that to deal with any resonance maybe
