I've got a question.

If you put a sleeve over the semi-absorbant mat, won't all the crud now roll off onto the carpet and even under the mat?

The way it appears to me is that this product protects the mat but provides a slicker, non-porous surface for water and sand, etc. to easily make it to your more diffucult to clean & more expensive to replace carpet.

Correct me if I am wrong. I love the idea of keeping the mats clean but not at the cost of the car's carpet.

I found some Blue Neon Clear Plastic Mats to match my Aegean Blue exterior.
Looks very sweet. When the light or sunshine hits the mats, the floor lights up in Neon Blue.
They perfectly match the front mats. Back ones are a little smaller.

Where is the Neon light installed?

I went to that web page and checked out all the pictures and it looks like a piece of plastic. I don't see any light installed on it.

Is the surface slippery when it's wet?

You could get injured if so.

 

There is no light. The way that the plastic mats are made, it's made out of some blue clear plastic. In the dark it looks like a regular clear mat, but when a sunlight or your interior light hits the mats, it looks like the mats are lit up with neon blue.
Its just the way its made.

 

It is better to get the all season floor mats from Acura.. They are made of rubber and have a lip to keep snow/mud/water contained.. Good for those winter months, and it won't jack up your carpet.. Only down side is they only have them for the front two seets..
