Making the trade
Making the trade
Hey everyone.
Im getting ready to trade my 2G TL dual screen/navigation for a 1G TSX. The main reasone im trading it is because I need a manual, and I need better gas mileage. I love my TL, but i cant deal with the automatic. Transmission already dropped once.
Good/bad
+6 speed manual
+Better gas mileage
+Less mileage then my TL
+Navigation. (I travel home a lot)
-20% tint. But I think I'm going 5% this time.
-Less power
-Memory seats
-Dual screen
-HID High beams and Low beams.
Mileage on my car is 135,xxx. Mileage on the TSX is 88,xxx.
So what do you guys think???

i mean, you cant really go wrong with the trade. the TSX does have less power but its a 6-speed so that makes up for some loss of power. power mods are also widely available for the TSX.
i dont really understand your list of cons. yes the TSX does not have memory seats and it has less power. but dual screens and HID highs and lows can be fitted to the TSX if you wanted. plus the TSX has projectors so light output is better than a 2G TL will ever be (unless it was projector retrofitted).

yeah man doesn't the tsx have HID lows?
I wouldn't think it was halogen...
and what year 1st gen? that makes a world of difference too
I personally love the TSX, but I don't think I could ever get rid of my TL. It's worth crap anyways, I'd just keep it in my driveway or my parents place

I have 5k high beams and low beams. i got the 3k high bemas in my room though. I bought the kit from Hidextra.com would i be able to use the ballast and just buy different bulbs? Dual screen...the car came with navigation. then i bought a pioneer doubled in screen. So i have 2 screens in the car.
I think im going to go ahead and trade the TL. I really like the tsx. I plan to get an 07-08 TL-s after deployment anyways.

The 2G TL was also my first car and you made the decision I made. I went from the 2G TL to the 1stGen TSX. I love the TL as well as the TSX, but you won't regret it. My TL went through 3 transmissions, and I said forget it.
Well I'm glad I'm doing the trade now. haha. I went through 1 transmission. I'm leaving in august to Afghanistan and ill be leaving the car to my sister so i don't want the transmission going out on her.
Looks like im stuck with the TL. I went to tarde the car but it didnt go through very smooth at all. I needed a co-signer or $1000. i didnt have either of them. So 6 hour drive for nothing.
Hi. we should meet up sometime. If you ever need any thing for the car i get parts at cost at stevenson Acura. Yea should have gotten pre approve b4 such a trip. PM me and ill give you my contact. Sorry for the mishap
I was just there at stevenson acura friday trying to see if i could find a manual tsx with a navi. haha no luck. i tryed to get a pre approved loan but the told me to try to get a quote to see how much they would give me for the TL first. I do need a part too. haha.
figure whatever low wholesale value in the blue book on your car is- add 500 dollars and thats what they offer
No, there are no `raises` for low miles, the TL came with every option
the book is wishful thinking there
Might get a little extra for certain upgraded parts, recent major service, but no guarantee
You can look that up online kbb.com is a start
several people get a `cut` of however much they can jack you for
when you go in person and see a sales person, closer, finance manager,,sales manager..
Not in your best interest!
go to a credit union (even if not a member!) or your bank
see how much they will loan you at what rate- thats the important part
The dealer is doing the same thing, but looking for max rate they can get you to agree-often by dangling increase your trade value or change car price,,it all comes out to the same profit they wanted on the sale when you walked in
contact the Internet sales dept manager- most every dealer has one- they can do better pricing for you, and willing to do the little effort required for a search to find the car you want
Thats what they do.
Or use the net to search all the car lots in 300 miles for what you want
make yourself the middleman~
