I have had 19x8.5 ronjon insypres on 245/35/19's for 6 months, I recently had a blow out on my rear passenger side tire, and the mother fucker just blew. I had to drive through pot holes on a completely flat tire for 45 miles. I was absolutely stunned to see my ronjon inspyre completely fine with no cracks, there was tire marks all over the satin silver finish, but no cracks, marks or any damage at all. I have driven for the past 4 months on the roughest roads, with pot holes and bumps everywhere, and never had any issues. Ronjon makes a great product, and I stand by it.
As for bitching, I know Rondy is a reasonable guy, and in life if you want to get taken care of, you need to be patient and respectful. As for this, I hope you learn from the situation

Just by past posts I have read and the way RonDog is handling it I have to side with RonDog. You came at this all wrong and at least send it in first and have him look at it or show us that there is no rash on the rim. Take the tire off I would love to see the lip of that rim because if there is any kind of rash at all then you lose all credibility. I was running 17's with 40 series tires and the curbs and potholes in florida would eat them up. It's hard to think if you are running anything 40 or below that you don't expect some kind of damage.

Just because you're not happy, it doesn't mean bad customer service. You said it yourself that the failure can't be 100% blamed on a manufacturing defect. So why should they take a hit when nobody knows for sure what's happened?
Besides, this is the first case of an RJ wheel failure we've seen on the forum. If this was a common occurrence, then yeah, there must be something wrong with the wheels. But that's not the case here.
Let's play Devil's Advocate, shall we Snowdude1?
Imagine you own your own business. You have a great reputation for a quality product that, although slightly expensive, is well worth the money. You probably have backorders for some products. Your business is booming because you have great customer service, are polite, and offer a quality product.
Now in comes this customer who obviously broke the product himself and wants a refund, free replacement, gifts, handouts, etc. You want to have great customer service, but you also don't want to give out gifts for free (i.e new rim in your case) because you will lose money.
You want to be honest and fair, and look at what might have happened with the rim. You can't tell schitt from those pictures (you need a better camera). If I were Rondog, I would say, "I understand your concern, but we cannot offer you a free replacement because this rim was bent from some sort of impact. We can offer you a quality rim for the same price that you paid before."
Rondog is right, end of story.
BTW, I don't even own Rondog rims. Also, I am a materials/mechanical engineer and that rim was very OBVIOUSLY bent by some sort of impact. The way the crack was propagating (progressing) parallel to the direction of travel is not normal.

All that is happening here is some younger gentleman is attempting to strong-arm and bad mouth a particular vendor/mfg into submission. My friend.....RonJon didnt get into business and stay that way for any particular time making stupid business decisions (as I stated earlier) and getting led around by a 20 year old. That being said, you have all but stated what your purpose/intentions of the thread were in your posts (why, still amazes me....kind of transparent to begin with and totally counter-productive to your goal...but I guess you thought we needed to be told that?) which makes almost anyone suspect. Sounds like the "good customer service" that you received to begin with is not even an offer anymore, given the way you handled this prior to the vendor even getting a chance to inspect the rim? Damn dude....something comes to mind here that very well might apply...what.... "I'm saying you've already done plenty of things to regret, you just don't know what they are. It's when you discover them, when you see the folly in something you've done, and you wish that you had it do over, but you know you can't, because it's too late. So you pick that thing up, and carry it with you to remind you that life goes on, the world will spin without you, you really don't matter in the end. Then you will gain character, because honesty will reach out from inside and tattoo itself across your face." (Phil Cooper, The Big Kahuna)
Live and learn dude. Should have handled things a bit differently I guess?

He's just your average run of the mill guy in todays society. Can't take the responsibilities for his actions for what he has done so put the blame on someone else.
I have to side with ronjon. Never had a problem with his customer service and I feel confindent about my 1pc devotion thats hould be here any day.
I would have just bought another rim and told him I will send the other back to him and if it was his fault that he reinbursed me for shipping and rim. Why be a dick when he hasn't been one yet really.

well we will see i am having some places here in town look at the rim and see what they think, all i can say is if it is impact i would have thought that the tire would have blown out first.

I read the entire thread, and was going to sit on the sidelines and watch. But I have to come forward and state that I agree with the above statements.
One thing is to seek a replacement or refund for a particular product due to poor workmanship or intent from a vendor to sell defective product. Another is to attempt to benefit from the goodwill of a reputable vendor on this site or elsewhere.
My Work Euroline was a victim of the roads the other day... 600+ a wheel... Imagine me blaming Work for some of the hazardous conditions of the highways and roads... Take ownership and assume responsibility if that's the case after proper investigation.

I've bent an OEM rim and all my impact did was bubble the sidewall.

see i have to laugh, there was a girl who reciently got rid of her tl and is not looking to get a z06 she said that one of her complaints is that this forum has people who are just rude and have no clue what they are talking about. yes i have not made many posts, why, i am at the #4 hardest college in the country to get into, and on top of that its a military academy, i dont exactly have all the free time in the world, in the summers when i have about 3 weeks of leave and in the winter for chrismas and thanksgiving break i drive the car, so i usally dont have many compaints or questions. but to be a NOOB i dont think so, i have had this car since day one and have taken care of it and put top quality products on the car. that is why i am upset here due to the fact that these rims came highly recomended and i am upset over the fact that they have failed like this. time will tell to know how and what caused this. all i can say is that i can see where the girl was comeing from in her comments about some of the people on this forum.

Not true, and if there is a bubble, then that right there is all I need to see in person, a tire doesn't just tear, it has to be pinched significantly and depeninding on where the wheel is hit, it might have stayed fne. If it was directly under the spoke and support, it might have just flexed and reverted back, then the tire might have absorbed all of the i pact and completely lost air.
Like I said, Just bring in the wheel for me to see in person. I did give a warranty on the chrome surface in the past out of good will a customer before recieving the wheel. I was under the impression that the customer claimed defect, and learned my lesson well when the damage was apparently casued by poor tire mounting technique. Our policy stands, that the claimed defect has to be inspected.
That said, just bring it in when we are open and I will see what i can do for you, even tho you have attempted to deface the company, there may be a bigger discount in your favor out of good will. And in the future, don't attempt to threaten any company who is doing decent business, it never works unless it is trully their fault and unless you have approached them in a well mannered way first.
We open the warehouse on jan 2nd. Later

LOL, prolly stphy, she gets around, verbally.
I have noticed that customers however old they are getting like this more often. I work for a Fortune 100 company as you can see by my name, and I get this ALL day long, they run an iPod over with their car and want it covered...They bring it in flattened and expect the manufacturer to cover it. Does anyone understand MANUFACTURER DEFECTS anymore...So dropping it in the pool is a defect to a electronic device? So before anyone makes warranty claims, PLEASE UNDERSTAND what a WARRANTY is supposed to cover....

If you are obviously this smart and hardworking, then treat this situation with professionalism and Rondog (and his company) with respect. Act like an adult and work it out with him. There is a remedy to this. It may not be exactly what you want but it can be resolved. But you must be proactive and open minded. Send the darn rim to him and go from there. Rondog is a respected board member and vendor, he will do right by you.
Good Luck
can i get a free rim too Ron? just kidding. i dont even own a set of his rims (on my wish list) but after reading this thread, all i can say is suck it up and buy a new rim. its obvious that you hit a crater and bent/cracked the rim yourself.
99% of the ppl on this board are decent and helpful. however, that leaves that 1% that are........
anyways, merry belated christmas and happy new years!!!

This reminds me of the young guy who crashed his TL and told us he was taking it back to the dealer so they could replace it under warranty since VSA didn't save him from the crash.. If I recall correctly, he was attempting a donut in a parking lot and hit another vehicle.

omg close this damn thread already....this guy has no valid case and obviously doesn't know jack shit. "i would expect the tire to blow out first if there was an impact"...stupid. I've seen so many bent rims, cracked rims, where the tire seemed fine.
snowdude... sorry to hear about the crack.
I am not sure if it is just the angle of the pic, but in the 3rd pic it looks as if the rim is bent a little also.
Did you have tires put on it recently?
Cuz If you did then maybe the stress from the tire machine could of cracked the rim.
Even so it sholudn't have happened.
I bought my TL with some inexpensive Exel rims on it and I was goin to change them, then my wife ran into a curb.
Thank God I didn't but some 1400.00 wheels.
These look nice and they are really inexpenisve.

A better look at the pics and it does look like an impact.
What was I thinking?
I have to say that i probobaly would have reacted in the same way as snowdog but from past exeperiences I have learned this is not the mature and proffesional way to handle this situation. Ron seems to be a very reasonable person and defineltly makes phat products that seem to be of the highest quality. I would own some but cant afford them.....yet...
