maintenance light

The light keeps on blinking when I turn on my car for a few seconds. I tried to reset the dash a few times but it doesn't work.

push and hold both the reset and trip buttons, then turn the key to the run position keep holding the buttons till the maintenence light goes off..........( about 10 sec)
