maintanence questions

Okay the TL is the first car i ever worked on, so here i am asking newb maintanence questions:

I just ordered some Acura/Honda Genuine Tranny Fluid. How do i completely flush out the tranny oil?

My brakes arnt as responsive as they were. I'm going to a mechanic to install new pads next week. My question is when should I add brake fluid? I can't even see how much is left in that little tank (cause its so dirty)

As for the brake fluid, have the brake system flushed completely with new fluid, try some Prestone Synthetic DOT 3, I saw some at Walmart for $3.77.

Maybe you should let the mechanic do the brake flush/bleed as well.

Well, get some jack stand if anything so you can get the car completely up off the ground, but as far a brake flush and stuff, if you are mechanically inclined, go for it. If not, let a shop do it for ya. If your changing your brakes, get some rotors while your at it. Slotted or drilled whatever you may prefer along with pads and new brake fluid would give you soooo much better braking and feel of the brake.

For tranny fluid
You dont need to jack up all 4. Jack up the drivers side pull the plug, then lower it back down level. After its drained completly jack it back up and put the plug back in. Then lower it and fill it!

You might not even need a jack. I did it with all 4 wheels on the ground.

The drain plug for the transmission is accessible from the driver's side just in front of the front wheel I think. You'll know it because you don't even need a socket, just a 3/8 inch driver. If you had the recall work done like I did on my 2003, there is a 12 mm bolt you'll have to remove underneath the hood to fill it. Remove the bolt and pull straight up.

There are some DIY messages around for the brake bleeding. It's a lot to type out although it is not hard at all.
