im wonderin what's up with my car when the maintenance required thing blinks everytime i start it up. is it cuz i need an oil change or what? i'm not due for one till about 7800 miles and i'm at 6K right now, so yea, if anybody could drop a line about it, help a brother out! =P

 

1. Turn off engine

2. Press and hold the select and reset buttons on the instrument panel, then turn the ignition switch to ON

3. Hold the buttons for approx. 10 seconds until the indicator resets

(that's from my '02 manual)

The light with flash every 6,000, and stay lit every 7,500 from the last time it was reset.

 

RTFM. It's all in there.

In other words its normal & thats what its going to do every 6,000 miles after its reset. Its just a reminder to you that service is do.

 

That is normal. The closer you get to your 7500 miles the more it will blink. Once it hits 7500 it will stay lit until you bring it in for your service and they reset it. Or else if you read your manual it tells you how to reset it yourself.
