I think Vicnyc_tl has one on his whip. It's off the hook. But it's not the TL that you saw coz his is SS.

This is exactly what I wanted to do a while back. I think it looks great. I wanted WW lip spoiler, but once I saw the M5 spoiler i thought it looked sick.

Just called around to all of the BMW dealers in my area and the cheepest price I got was 144. The most expensive was 194. Can someone give me an idea of how much it would cost to paint this spoiler?? Thanks.

Is it factory brand new? That's great price for M5 spoiler. Where did you call?

Anyways, bring it to me. I'll paint it for 100.

I have one too and will be putting it on this weekend, in time for the PAA meet. It's the M5 lip spoiler, and I bought it from BMW of Glendale in CA and it was around $115 shipped. I then took my spoiler as well as some other pieces and had everything painted to match factory for around $200. The install is very easy..... shouldn't take more then 15 min. You just need to buy some 3M tape to install it. You should be able to get that from the dealer or an autoparts store for under $10. Here are the directions for the spoiler..... they are the same for the TL....

Just called and ordered my spoiler from Pacific BMW in Glendale. 104 + tax and $12 shipping. About $125. Even if you live local, the guy told me they are required to ship it. Like I said above, the cheapest I found in Orange County was 144 at Irvine BMW. Can't Wait!

to get the spoiler painted, can someone just use the spray touch-up paint at paintscrach.com. It looks like the spoiler does not have that much area to paint...

how are the touch-ups at that website anyway...i would like to try it since someone scratched my driverside door.

Touch-Up for small paint chips -> OK,

FYI... I went to my local BMW dealer (Pace BMW) and bought the adhesive tape from them for $10.68. I just told them I needed the adhesive tape for a 2002 M5 lip spoiler. You should have seen their faces when I said that!! Little do they know it's going on a TL-S

Is it necessary to have that specific tape? Is it precut or it it just a roll of 3M tape?

I just called my local BMW dealer - $144 plus $11 or so for the tape. They also have one on Ebay for $129 plus $10 s/h. I think I'll pay the extra couple of bucks and just buy locally.

What a great mod - under $250 painted!

Plus no holes to drill - a bonus since I'm leasing this car

I went to my local autoparts store and bought the 3M double side foam tape for moldings and emblems which is also supposed to mount other stuff (and was recommended by them for the spoiler). I didn't think it was sticky enough.... so I removed it from the spoiler (never put it on the car) and bought the BMW tape from the dealer. That stuff sticks like no joke, so it made me happy.....

bflow4400 - why not just call BMW in Glendale like I mentioned in my previous post(s)... this is where I got mine from and it was around $115 shipped!!

I agree those double sided tape sticks good enough, but I still think the spoiler suppose to be bolted on. So M5 spoiler isn't my type!!

What if you already have the OEM spoiler on your car and you'd perfer to have the smaller M5 spoiler? I know that they drilled into my truck lid to attach the OEM; would the M5 spoiler cover these holes or possibly even use the existing holes to attach? The OEM spoiler bothers me a bit as it is so large. Mike Harvey, my local dealer, has said that to remove the OEM spoiler, they'd have to replace the trunk lid...too expensive for my tastes. Covering the holes with the M5 might just be what I'm looking for. Thanks! Ben

PS-Great forum...I'm a long time lurker, rare poster.

It should cover the holes... not too sure. I'll have to look at my trunk to see where the marks are for the factory spoiler, and if the lip spoiler covers them.....

It's an Automate, it was already on the car when I bought it. It's okay, the range is excellent but the remote sucks (wish it had more features).

The M5 lip spoiler may cover the posterior holes, but there is no way it would reach and cover the anterior holes. Your only options for a lip spoiler to cover those holes are the Wiinsg West Lip spoiler and the Value one as well.

The M5 spoiler is just what I'm looking for! It's great-looking on a TL in that's it's not too flashy like the OEM spoiler, and most importantly, I don't have to drill any holes!

Thank you for this post.

So how do I get the right paint for the spoilers to match my car. My car is a 99TL in Silver. Does anyone know the paint code. Also do these M5 spoilers come painted already and I have to paint over it?

Don't try to paint it by yourself. You have to take it to the local bodyshop and have them paint it for you. NH623M should be the color code for Satin Silver metalic.

Njzprettyboy, not to rip ya, but noone's taking you up on your offer because they can get it shipped to the for $115 straight from Glendale CA. If they get it from you it's $115 plus shipping!?! Where's the savings?
