Well I had uh boo boo and broke of the key inside a lug nut and now don't have a way to get my other lock keys of the wheel if I get a flat tire..

Is there anyway I can just get they key instead of a whole new kit?

Yup, they sell the key by itself. I had to get one when I bought my car.

I'll try to find the site...

http://www.mcgard.com/Home/About/Cus...placementParts

I ordered it from Mcgard. But it's been 2 years. I THINK I called them up to order.

But it seems like with their ordering process, you need the original kit's registration card and all that.

In my experience dealer took old ones off but they didn't sell just the key I would have had to buy another whole set and they told me the keys are random they don't know what one comes In the package. when they took mine off when my key broke (same situation) they had a master like key set they had to try them Individually till they found the one that fit my lock to take them off so I don't think there are any numbers to go off of I may be wrong but my dealer didn't know either.

Your dealer is stupid. It's not random. They can definitely match keys to cars.

They're trying to make you buy the whole set and take your money...but what else is new?...

How is that when the lugs don't have a single number on them and the keys only have the same pat. number. They all have the same thing written on all of them I checked as I tried to use friends that had factory locks but none of them worked so I went to the dealer. All of there keys had the same numbers I tried like 4 or five others. So how to tell with out test fitting maybe your dealer has a bunch of open pairs they will let you try before you buy them but the dealers by me don't open them before you buy them. Someone posted that they come with a card I don't know I didn't buy my car new and I didn't buy new OEM locks for the price they wanted either so I don't know about a card. You also have to make sure you have Acura locks the Honda ones are different Acura are like 5 point the Honda ones are like 6 points and dealers by me they don't carry the opposite master key sets so if you find someone put ones from a Honda you would have to go to Honda to get them taken off. Also when the dealer took mine off they had a small I think it was red case with about 8-10 keys in it they were in no special order he tried them one at a time till he found the one for my car and at the time I had a Honda went to Honda to get it removed as I thought it was a Honda lug and found out after Honda tried all the ones they had it wasn't a Honda lug so they sent me down the road to the Acura dealer luckily it was an Acura factory lug as the company that makes them for Honda and Acura also makes them for other people.

Someone on the 1G side had bought the car and they were not given the wheel lock so they had to get it off.

^^ Wow, space that out my man. Gather your thoughts, and use periods...lol

I can barely understand what you wrote. I'll try to find the card I used and take a pic.

Do you have the original packaging of the locks and key?

iirc- there were 5 lock keys- most dealers had a set in case owner didnt bring it with the car--big problem when that happens..hard to do a brake job with no lug lock!

You could a few years ago- buy 1 replacement from parts dept

There are not markings/codes visable so its harder for thieves to get wheel locks.
Kind of like the torx #20 security screws on the headlight back opening to the bulb are supposed to be an anti theft device...
forcing crooks use a prybar against the hood instead and taking the entire housing!,,,leaving behind only the mounting tabs
Now if they want your wheels the whole car is gone in 15 seconds
