Thumbs down Lost my only master key and remote!

well i was working in the yard today and i think my keys fell out of my hoody pocket. It was my only master key and remote. All i have left is my valet and i know i cant get a new key cut from that because it won't work on the trunk...only the doors and ignition so theres one problem. My other problem is that i dont know the fcc id number on the back of my original remote so i dont know which remote to buy. so i guess my two questions are..what do i do with the key issue and how do i find out the fcc id number for the remote? someone please help me out.

they can reprogram a blank remote without an old one if im not mistaken.

new keys = new ignition? have you called a dealer to see what they would say?

you can also get an aftermarket alarm that will pop the trunk, prob cheaper than dealer fixing too.

did you scour your lawn??!! if its still on the property make sure its REALLY gone

check out this site for some info on reprogramming:

Well the 02-03 are different remotes so make sure you buy the 99-01 one which you can find on ebay or at the dealer for a hefty amount. The key is around 50 bucks and that depends on the dealer. The programing part is not hard for the remote just do a quick search and you shall find. LoL I had the luxury of my keys dropping into the gutter in manhattan. My friends and I were at that gutter digging like its some lost treasure with by passers even trying to help us and stuff. haha it was funny I even went to one of those restaurants to get a chopstick to try my luck. I believe everything in all will cost you around 100 bucks.

I know what you mean. None of my keys work in the trunk lock either.

you'll have to program the transponder in your key. unless you have another copy of a master key which is already programmed the dealer will do this for you. at my place they are charging $30 for the key + $120 to program it. so far i havent been able to find a way to program the key using a valet or anything non-dealer related. i hope this helps. if you can find a way to program it let me know.

Dud is this simple...EBAY buy a master key ($15) and a remote ($10-25) instead of spending $40something for the key and 93.xx for the remote at the dealer. Programming of the remote is free and you can DIY becuase its very simple just as long as you get the right remote (there's 2 or 3 different codes for remotes.

As far as the key, there is a $10 program and cut fee at the dealer i know 'cause i've done it...but i had a spare master so idk...go to the dealer where you bought your car from if it applies. There you go...You can drive with your valet key meanwhile while you wait on this or can simple go to the dealer and have them solve the problem for about $180. hope this is usefull.

they probably used your spare to just program it the way you can find on this site. using the gas pedal combination. if you dont have ANY master keys that are already programmed they have to use a computer. and htey charge over $100+ for that
