get a cap to match the max power rating on the amp, change the ground wires, big 3, ground-chassis, ground-battery, ground engine......and id get a deep cycle battery.....

i have the cap on for now, doesnt do it often, depending on song and bass...but also be4 this car, had grounds changed, deep cycle battery and cap, and was fine

Battery and ground wires- thats you likely culprits

Everything runs off the battery's stored power, the alternator
just replaces what has been consumed by the stereo and
engine electronics

okay thanks guys, my ground cables are i think 4 or 5 gauge and power is 3 i believe. I will get a new battery this paycheck and look into getting a cap.
do you just wire them in before your amp just in series?

get a new battery for good measure then go get at least a 1.5 farad cap. you should have no flicker after that. i ran 1000rms amp with a 1 farad on the original battery which is 4+ yrs old. it only dimmed if i had accessories on and bumped it above festive listening levels.

cap is wired in series with the feed line before the amp. use the charging circuit to get proper performance.

At idle the bigger alternator isnt going to solve your problem
They make the power above 1500-1700 rpm,
so the baddest battery you can fit is the way to go
