Lighting Question

Is it ok to have PolarG M6's for the map lights and door lights. They are 18w and I am afraid that they may be to much wattage for the wire. Could some one please reassure me that it is ok.

Probably ok if you don't have them on for too long..

I would be more concerned about the area around the bulb and it maybe melting.. but again, it depends on how long you have them on for..

I doubt it will be a problem. I've accidentally left mine on for a few hours with no problems.

You probably won't need to worry. There were several instances that I left my door and dome light on overnight in my garage. No melting or overheating. I have used Polarg bulbs for a long time. And they always lasts!

Yeah, but do you have the Polarg M-6 bulbs in there?? These are larger than the Polarg M-4 which is the normal 168 type.. the M-6 are the W2 type which is the kind used for the reverse bulbs and also the CL-S uses the M-6 in their wannabe fog lamps..

On the CL board, alot of members who have replaced thier stock fog lamps with M-6 bulbs have had problems with it melting the housing and the bulb expanding and breaking making it very hard to take out.. Of course the map and door lights won't be on nearly as long as the fogs, but at least people wanting to use the M-6 on their interior bulbs should know this..

They are bright as sh!t but I decided to take them out and use them for the reverse lights for safety reasons. I did the whole interior including dome, maps, 4 doors, glove box, trunk, reverse lights and trunk for a little under a hundred dollars. It took 5 sets of polarg M4's, a PolarG M28, and two PolarG M6's. It is worth the money the results are amazing.
