I believe it's 194. You can order them from autolumination.com, superbrightleds.com, ebay, etc.

Another option is using cold cathodes if you're going to go custom. They're available at Oznium.com or any computer modding place (eg: Fry's).

so what if they see my plate numbers more easily? my car isn't stolen and if the cops really wanted to get me, a normal license plate bulb wouldn't stop them from pulling me over. plus it really adds a nice touch to the car

I just installed mine this week - no pics, but I like it a lot. Looks nice. I always liked the new look of the Lexus with the LED plate light. I think it looks very clean!! I got mine from superlumination or something.

so if i get 3 orders of the door courtesy lights, i can use the third pair for the license plate and trunk light correct? since it comes in pairs.

For my application I think your set up would work better. I've already replaced the OE bulb w/ a "bright" LED but because I've got a license plate mounted back up camera, it blocks some of the light in the middle. I need something that has some nice bright light straight accross.

I'm no photog so I don't know how to take a good night pic, but I can take a pic of the camera so you guys (hopefully) get a visual of what I'm trying to explain....

These (and the WLED-9) will start to flicker sooner or later. Go with the SuperNova (has a heatsheild) and seems to last a LOT longer without flicker.

I just turned my parking lights on, so I didn't have the brakes applied. I have no idea what bulbs are in the tails, they were in there when I got the car. If you want me to I can check and see.

Mine is "Super White" but it came out lookin kinda purplish. It still looks good but it doesn't really match the interior lights.

For this vendor, one order comes in pairs? One order is for the license plate? then 2 more orders for door courtesy lights? Is this correct?

New to the whole LED thing...but can you just put these straight in or does it require re-wiring. Would also be interested in doing this in the car cabin.

no rewiring needed to have this be done. all you need to do is order your LED from autolumination, superbrightleds, or v-leds. the light bulb part number is 194 or 168. they should be the same.
