I tried looking into it with Mitchell Estimator, a shop program and all I could pull up was the blower motor, which sold for $80, it was 64 on acuraoemparts.com. I also found a transistor package associated with the blower it was $37, may or may not be the same thing, it is more likely the fan is driven by transistor based speed control the a variable resistor. Try to get the part numbers from all the stuff he put it, then you can look it up on acuraoemparts.com or some other site.

That's not right. I would throw a fit. I could buy a resistor and have a electrical shop come out and solder it, make it tell me I am a winner, good provider, and wash my dishes for $250!
I think they aren't cool. Also, if it was a bad connection, why are they just throwing the motor in also!? Wow. Might want to shop for a better shop!

That guy made at least $250 profit on the parts alone. Since he gave you the estimate first, you should've bought the parts yourself and then have him do the work. You could have saved lots of money and put it to good use. Like essential mods!

Many shops will not install parts that you brought in, or if they do- its with no warranty on parts or labor. If you brought a bad part- they are not going to change it again for free.
If they make profit on the part by providing it, and offering full warranty on parts and labor- they are now assuming the risk of a failed part- and the free labor to replace it.

Electrical problems should be taken to an electrical specialist- its the nightmare job for the average tech!

I see what you're saying (no pun intended) but if you buy good quality or genuine OE parts, I think it's worth the risk. The amount the OP was charged just seems excessive considering the work that was being done.
