LED Turn Signal Load resistor Question
LED Turn Signal Load resistor Question
Ok so I just got some Led turn signals, and the load resistors so they wont have the hyper blink crap. They didn't come with instructions on how to install or connect the load resistors. And the v-leds website is down. So my question to you is, do you know where they go, and would you happen to have a wiring diagram for the turn signals so i can see what wires to connect this crap too. Thanks a quadrillion.
just go to napa and pick up a heavy duty turn signal relay... thats what i did.. cost me 22 bux cdn after tax so it should be cheaper in the states.. i cant find the box right now but i THINK the part number was EP24
the turn signal relax is a big square relay on the back of hte fusebox by the drivers side foot panel

ohhh sorry i read the main post wrong... i think you just splice it into the turn signal wire by the bulb, then make sure you mount it somewhere that its not touching plastic or anything that could melt

I know you splice them into the wires with the neat little connector things, but the question is what wires to connect to.
Well, I decided not to install the LED bulbs...... well at least not the amber ones. I just bought some HID white ones, and hopefully they will come in before the meet. The amber bulbs are for sale in the black market here:

Splice the load resistor into both wires - there's no directionality to the load resistor as long as its on the + turn signal wire on one end of the load resistor and a ground on the other end.
I'll suggest you do this at the back turn signals. I think there's a spot to place the resistor in the back so its clear of any wires since the resistor gets hot.. Even if you have the LED bulbs in the front, you can place the load resistor in the back since the circuit on cares that its there rather than where it is.
Oh and from my experience "white" LEDs are very hard to match to our stock HID color. They're usually more blue and closer to 6000K or 8000K HIDs. That's why I stuck with amber instead.

Well, I have 6k HID's and yellow fogs. So the amber turn signal just looks off. Like a bastard child trying to fit in. Thanks for the advice. If the resistors dont sell then I will take the rear turn signal wire aproach.
