LED Turn signal lights

I'm about to purchase a set of the matrix 2 LED bulbs for my corner lights

http://autolumination.com/1156_1157.htm

My question is- do I buy the flasher unit or the load resistor? Does the flasher just plug in in place of the stock one? I have no clue how these things work.

Thanks

Im gonna go out on a limb and say you need them both. I purchased just the PNP bulbs from superbrightleds and i now have hyper flashing. It doesnt bother me because I can not see it personally but I am going to correct it with the load resistors!

Thanks for the llink to the LR's!!!!

You only need one or the other. Basically, the LED bulb uses very little power compared to regular bulbs. The load resistor acts as a fake bulb and burns off the extra power needed to make the OEM flasher unit work properly. The load resistor is probably easier to work with since all you do is tap the + and - turn signal wires for each side - be sure to get two, one for each side. Technically, the flasher is better since it corrects for the lower load, but then you gotta find which flasher unit we have and then swap it out somewhere in the dash.

does anybody know where this is located in the dash?
This seems like the better alternative to me

The flasher unit should be located in the fuse box under the hood, maybe under the dash, not 100% on this. In the link, if you scroll towards the bottom, theres a chart to help you choose the right relay.
