use hide food or hide care you can get it at any jaguar dealership. you should apply at least every 2 to 3 weeks but really weekly is best. Just let car sit in sun and get hot inside then spread the hide food on judt the front of the back and the top of the seat, the head reasts adn the center console. Use lexol vinyl protectant on everything else as everything else is vinyl.

Does it smell like new leather? I use a leather protector I bought at the Mall.. Wilsons Leather. It gives a very plesant leather smell for 2 weeks

My understanding was that the only leather was on the seating surfaces (seat and back rest) and steering wheel. All else was "pleather" (vinyl/plastic). Is this correct?

I usually just use Lexol conditioner every month or so just on the seating surfaces and the Lexol vinyl cleaner on all the vinyl parts.

Cool

Darla, you are correct only seating surface is leather. I just smear the conditioner all over. It doesn't hurt pleather. Don't use armor all on pleather, although it would not hurt pleather, it gets very sticky on your skin on contact.

Hide Food is good stuff, except applying it every 2 to 3 weeks, I think, is overkill. In the hot weather, the interior of your car would stink to high heaven of animal fat, white spirits and whatever else is in that stuff. I would say once every 3 months is more than sufficient, unless you're living in a very cold climate. There was also some discussion some months back about how overconditioning can cause premature cracking of the leather...

Wait a sec, is that leathery fabric on the door on my 2002 TLS "pleather"?

The fabric on the driver's door is looking pretty dry on my 500-mile car. What should I use to get it back in shape?
