Know what yer goin thru.. I bought my TL on a Saturday 3 months ago.. that Wednesday we had a big meeting to announce 150 "de-selections" (PC BullSh!t).. luckily I survived.. with a $409 and a $530 carpayment.. would not have been enjoyable for me.

You guys need to buy a cheaper car so you don't have such huge monthly payments.

Or buy a car where you don't have to make any monthly payments!

I wouldn't worry about finding a job in Dallas. 75% of the people that graduate in Computer Science at USL (That a university here in LA) go to Dallas for their first job! These are people with NO experience and only a bachelors degree!

Check the www.monsterjobs.com type of websites and see if you can find something through the internet!

Good luck with your job search!

Gomez, I work for Alteon WebSystems and we just got bought by Nortel and I know for a fact they're looking for a sales peron in the Dallas area to support the military accounts. Email me your resume dude and I'll pass it onto the Federal Sales Director. He and I are pretty cool since I was his Pre-Sales Engineer until he got promoted!

Unhappy Laid Off!!!

Got two promotions in a couple of months, bought a TL, then yesterday was laid off in a massive reorganization. Goodbye, pre-IPO stock options at $1.69 strike price...

Just had to vent!

Anyone:
1) Want to buy my RX-7 convertible? $2,500 OBO.
2) Know of any good sales jobs in the Dallas area, or anything else? I sold hitech WLAN installations most recently, and also have done technical training, business development, also F&B managment. Excellent references.

Gomez, I am so sorry to hear that. But with a market and economy like today, you should have another job in no time!

Look at it this way...you have more time with your TL now!!

Hmmm, an interesting proposition! I sure did know a lot more about their product line than the salesmen...

No worries Gomez, this is a hot job market. The company that I work for just spun off and we became part of the spinoff. Problem is, the spinoff doesn't want the part of the business that I am in, so we too could be looking at layoff anytime.

Preludeshfan, what the hell do you do for MCI that doesn't require a degree and gets you 60K a year. Get me a job man!!

SoundSpeed, it's not always hard to get 60k, I'm doing it too w/o a degree. Just get REALLY good at computers and your reputation can preceed you. I was told in an interview that having the server and desktop experience behind me means more than an MCSE without any hands on installs..

HATE IT ..

But it is possible.

You guys have been great. After much deliberation, I have fully updated my resume.

As I remember, 'AC' and 'avengerjr' asked for my resume. Check your mail, guys - it's there. Thanks in advance, and any questions please do not hesitate to call or email me. The resume should be pretty straight forward as to what I am looking for.

If I left anyone out who was interested and had something in mind please feel free to post and I will forward my resume to you as well.
