KYB GR-2 Shocks

Does anyone have them installed with lowering springs?

I searched many forums and the general comments on them are comfortable and can handle drop within 1.5 inches.

I have the TEIN HighTech springs ordered and according to Shimbo, the drop is about 1.3 inches. I was thinking of getting Tokico blue but the retailers do not ship overseas. Also, Tirerack sell them for only $200 per set making them very attractive money wise.

My objective for my 99' TL is to close the fender gap a little bit but maintain close to stock ride.

Thanks for everyone's comments!!

I had KYB's on my Civic and it SUCKED!!!! not even a few months down the road did it go in and never come back out when it's supposed to. I took them out and pushed them in myself and they took forever to come back out. Replaced them with Tokiko blue's and were never happier. BTW, It's the lowering springs that lowers your car, try the Eiback Pro-Kit!!! Not a dropped look and it still isn't that harsh!

You get what you pay for. I too was looking at these shocks when I was in teh market for new shocks. It was either these or Tokico Blue HP shocks. The Tokico's were a little more money and after much research, I went with the Tokico's. Don't get the KYB's.

Thanks again for everyone's help. Your information is really helpful.

Although I preferred the Tokico blue like Shimbo, I can't find any US Tokico retailers willing to ship them to Hong Kong. So I have ordered the TEIN HighTech to go with the KYB's instead. I guess this is a new combo because no one in this forum have this setup yet.

I will only use them for another 2-3 years because in Hong Kong, the value of a 99 TL in 2007 will worth almost nothing and might be in the junk yard by then.

Also, the average mileage per year here is only 6,000 miles. As long as the KYB last for another 25,000 miles, I'be really happy.

I will post some pictures with some Hong Kong Scenery background with my lowered TL by end of October. Really looking forward to that because the pics will look very different from the ones in the AI gallery.
