Knuckle swap gone wrong.

Ok, I have searched for this and heard of rumors of it being done. I have not been completely successful. I am probable going to go back stock to be able to drive and tackle later. Race Season starts March 4th. The road thus far.. Had brake fade and a few issues last season. Took the stock single piston calipers apart for clean and rebuild, thought to myself a waste, and went with fast brake BBK adapter for the advics rl and 350z brembo rotors. Went ok for a while, few spirited runs and my daily for 6 months, Had to rush my mother to the hospital after thanksgiving, front right break noise and then front left brake noise, My mother was stabilized and released from the hospital 5 days later. I tore into the tl. Rotor had begun to chew in the driver side caliper, seized caliper. I emailed fast brakes and v-tech academy and reviewed my install and solutions. New driver caliper and new center ring and rotor for passenger. I know i did get some bearing vibration and some funny noises, but it would tighten up. car didn't make through test started chewing through the caliper. I re examined the brackets seemed to be ok. I then had the idea of reducing the number of connections and going with a brake system approved by acura. I believed the knuckle swap would be fairly straight forward as . I had heard of it being done but never saw any write ups or in person Located some 2004 tl sport 6 speed knuckles, new bearings, hubs, ball joints , tie rod ends, abs speed sensors. Trie cutting the lower control arms to accept the larger 3rd gen ball joint. 4 arms later . I got a machine shop to do it precisely. Changed the terminal on the wheel speed sensor, and on my way to get an alignment. Many headaches and broken parts along the way. It is February and the car has been down since the beginning of December. ABS lights on the dash. tested the abs wheel speed sensors , the showed as good. I drove the car with really bad bump steer and a large amount of toe out for a bit. no lights then today. abs lights. The axles seem to not have the big tooth ring on the 3rd like the second. not sure if that could have caused. I am now beyond my skill level. I will be checking the relays and the abs controller and motor. I thought I would say something incase somebody else is like , oh that will never because of 1-2-3 or blah blah I didn't want to spent 3k on a brembo GT set and have a bracket, the d2 stuff I am unsure of at 1200 . I though OEM would be the best and affordable., now it looks like I am at a dead end. I say that because if there is something about my configuration that is constantly break or cause faults . I don't know. I have the hard copy books , not in digital format. Hello everybody.

Reposting. Reset everything and seem to not have fried anything . Drove with traction control off did get passenger side wheel speed sensor failure . Maybe alignment? Bad sensor? Happens on uneven ground. Hopeful

If you're looking for help, you may want to start by clarifying the specific question. That said, it sounds like you have 2 issues. Clearance issues and ABS issues.

As for the clearance, found the following in a 2G CL thread

Regarding to the ABS, electronics aside presuming the mounting position of the 3G wheel speed sensor and/or tone ring tooth count are different? If so, the most practical solution may be to run the stock knuckle and sensor.

Good Luck

I appreciate the insight. This has turned into a rabbit hole situation for me and I am just sharing what I had experienced. I will look into the maxima rotors and review the tone ring/ reluctor difference between the systems on the second gen and 3rd gen. Being that I spoke to fast brakes about the rotor, The system was intended to function with and it was unsuccessful. I didnt try to tackle another rotor option. I abandoned them.

I will be the first to let this thread die. I can't seem to delete it, so as I am working through the tie rod length combination and abs differences. I found other ways. I like the visionworks one the best, TL-S Caliper Kit – VisionAutoworks the slick fab uses hyundais brembo brakes and other fiddly stuff Big Brake Upgrades (3dcartstores.com) , choices.
