knees hit the keys

I'm 5'8, and have always found this irritating in my 2000 tl. While driving, my keys always seem t0o low b/c they are constantly hitting my knees. I've never had this problem in any other car, and wanted to know if anyone has this same problem and if they have any tips.

Thanks

Put the seat back a little more, move the steering wheel up, or just put all your keys on one keyring. I'am 6' and i have all 4 of my cars keys, house, work and sorforth and i have no problem with them hitting my knee. You can also put the actual seat down it might be too high.

sit further back and relax...unless you drive like my grandma, all stuck up on the wheel, then you wont have this..."problem"

no offence, but i dont think you have short arms either... my 6'4, 270lbs friend took a drive in my TL once and didnt have that problem.

peace.

i sit as far back as I can, and my seat is down all the way, though now thinking about it, I will try to raise the steering wheel...

Yeah you probably have too much junk on your keychain. Whenever I drive my sister's car, I have that problem cuz she likes to keep all this dangly crap on it.

I'm 5'8 180 lbs and don't have that problem. The proper way of adjusting your seat is to move it back as far as you can, so that when your right leg is fully extended, you are pushing both pedals as far as they can go. THEN adjust your seatback so that when your arms are fully extended, they are resting on the 10-o'clock & 2-o'clock position. The height of the steering wheel should be set so that the top portion of the wheel does not cover the top part of the guages.

I think i run into problems b/c i'm used to using the headrest to rest my head on when i'm driving inside my other car (I30). However, I don't think the acura seat was designed with that in mind. I will try taking your advise on how to adjust the seat tonight...
thanks

btw, to the other post, I don't have a lot of stuff hanging from my keys...

FYI...That position is best for defensive driving & emergency maneuvers...regardless of the car you drive.

Try rotating the headrest - pulling the top of the headrest towards the front. It'll move it closer to your head although it might be uncomfortable because you end up resting your head against the top edge of the headrest.

lol, I may have found the solution... it doesn't actually solve the problem but its funny seeing it there.

i just realized, i actually bought it from the same guy, but there was no red 'A'...all white

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...%3AWN%3AMT%3A1

who ever sits in the front passenger seat, always compliment it, because they can really relax. and its pretty damn cheap. plus that guy said he will do any custom design i want, except he doesnt carry parchment color. Again its cheap, so u cant go wrong with it, if you dont like it, oh well. not a big a loss.. I personally like it.
