im wanting to install a killswitch on my 02tls and 05mdx. but my mechanic quoted 110 so im pretty sure i can do this myself for free (minus parts). Would i use a momentary switch? and what wire do i splice

If you put one in you would put in on the + wire of the ecu, fuel pump, or starter!

If you do install one DON'T tell anyone and especially don't post on here where you put it!!! Otherwise they are useless...

well most people dont steal cars by towing them.........this is to make it harder for them to steal the car by starting it and driving away. does it make a difference on which one to put it on? ecu vs starter vs fuelpump

i'm probably wrong for some blatantly obvious reason, but i'll ask anyway...
isn't this what the engine immobilizer is for, to prevent hotwiring of your car?

Yeah, the immobilizer system kills the ignition if there is no key with corresponding chip...then again, I'm sure professionals have figured a way around that, but i believe our cars are vandalized more than actually stolen and driven off...i think a kill switch to the fuel pump would be the best if you had to hook this up. I would leave the ECU alone since it may be needed to work the immobilizer...without fuel, car stays put

thats why you get this..

get a set of four for only..

$350.. start stealing cars and it'll be worth it... not that im saying you should but... there are alternative ways to bypass such things like.. killswitch or hotwire on the spot.. push the car on top of this at like.. 2 AM when everybody is asleep.. take it to a nice secluded place and start your work....

Where do you live that your that paranoid about your stuff? Our cars have immobilizers already. If they really want your car they will get it. Fully insure it and quit worrying.

yea.. That too... Drive my car to the most busiest places and I come back to my car unharmed... I even had a random person come up to me and say he'd love to steal my wheels..

Don't be so paranoid... Might actually get your shit stolen if you do become really paranoid....

Putting a kill switch to the fuel pump or the ignition is kind of risky. If the kill switch relay crapped out in the middle of driving, you could lose control of the car completely.
